Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

trams through the CBD aren't going to make money, WHY, because they are in the free travel zone, just look at the city students that travel from City West, Victoria Square, City South and South Terrace, too bad for a commuter in peak hour to travel beyond South Terrace and the number of fare evaders...

Re: My Basic Vision for Adelaide: From a Planning Perspective

transport not only our trains should be electric but our rail corridors to be solar powered with battery back up at the substations that would eliminate electric trains coming to a halt during a power outage, we should embrace the new hydrogen powered trains in the non electric system, all new buses...

Re: Should Adelaide bid for a theme park...'a la' Disneyland etc.

don't see the need for a theme park, the Showgrounds could open more frequently for side shows but we need innovative centres. Our museum is a Natural Museum which you can only visit so many times, we need a museum such Sydney Powerhouse, Melbourne / Victoria Museum, Spotswood Science Museum. We hav...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

There were plans to build a new station across from the Hills site due to the proposed extension of Castle Plaza, which folded when the land was found to be fairly toxic and no one prepared to foot the bill. It would make more sense to close Woodlands Park and Edwardstown and build a new station wit...

sad to see Masters go, had a far better and interesting range than Bunnings, would have liked the partnership taken away from Woolworths. Visited a hardware chain in Germany which had a range and price that would have competed more than well against Bunnings

Re: Mount Gambier | Developments & News

The car is convenient, the bus is not popular choice and slow, plane is expensive. When Sharpe Airlines had their Adelaide service it was cheaper to fly to Portland th...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

rolling stock for the Overland is out of date, may still be useful for charter work, football specials and motor race special to Tailem Bend but not for modern day intercity rail. The Overland is outside of GSR business model, that is tourist trains, and GSR know that it hasn't worked for the Overla...
