[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

We could also call it The Marj Motorway.

M1 - South Eastern Freeway - Glen Osmond to Murray Bridge

M2 - North South Motorway - Gawler to Port Noarlunga

Makes sense to me.

All the names suggested would be good for the bridges and overpasses

[COM] Re: Oaklands Crossing | $174m

As of yesterday the Oaklands Crossing Project is now officially complete. :D This now removes the major road block along Diagonal Road which is the main corridor between the outer west and southern suburbs. I would hope at some stage they would look at removing pinch points along the remaining parts...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I’m loving how they have dug holes in the T2T already!! Making all traffic slow to 60 because the far left lane in each direction has a plate over the hole... really‽ Maybe they had a few leftover trees from the remediation works. The lowered motorway could use a bit of colour. At least it wo...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

$250m surely would have to include property acquisition for any property that is affected by all three options being investigated - particularly at the River Torrens end of T2T and near interchanges at SDBR/HBR and and at Cross Roads. All three options are still covered but $252 million for propert...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I know they mentioned it for being planning AND early works, but $252 million seems like a hell of a lot for planning. An optimistic way of looking it is that it’s only 5% of the total project cost... But a pessimistic way of looking at it is that if it’s being spent on consultants at say $2000/day...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Have we heard boo from infrastructure SA? Aren't they looking at all of this? I wonder how much is tied up in the potential commonwealth games bid, we will get Feds cash for that. They have a website here: https://infrastructure.sa.gov.au/ This reminds me of an episode of Utopia. I see globelink is...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

Yesterday for the third time in almost as many weeks peak hour traffic was again affected by a burst watermain. On better news there is now an equal money commitment by both Federal Labor and Liberal on this corridor. This announcement yesterday by Labor was to match the 2.7b promised previously by ...

So that's both major parties committing the same amount of money. Now it's up to the engineers to come up with the solutions on which option should be taken. Exciting times! The Federal Libs have now promised a total of 2.7b and Federal Labor only 1.2b. The State Libs will match the 2.7b with a loa...

[COM] Re: Goodwood/Springbank/Daws Road Intersection

I personally cannot see how a dogleg ( sorry staggered T ) can be more efficient than a 4 way intersection if you are comparing apples with apples. Did the traffic modelling of both plans have the extra lanes and extra lane storage capacity or was the Liberals plan modelled against Labors concept pl...

Yesterday a second watermain has burst in only a week and caused havoc on the same unfunded section of this North - South Corridor at Melrose Park. With the closure of 2 of the 4 lanes, in the peak period, cars queued for kilometers and businesses were also affected. Repairs took over 12 hours. :wal...
