[COM] Re: Uniting Communities | 68m | 19 Levels | Mixed Use
There was a sod turning ceremony today to officially commence construction. Apparently the federal government has committed $7m to this project. What is the federal government doing contributing money to a church project? What a terribly misinformed question to ask. Do you actually know what Unitin...

[VIS] Re: University of Adelaide Redevelopment (North Tce Campus)
This is a certainly a bold proposal! Obviously the architects have understood that the design of the main building is paramount to the aesthetic of North Terrace and have created something quite iconic. Yet it still fits in well with the surrounding streetscape! I love how the buildings seem to floa...

[COM] Re: 11-27 Frome Street | ~120m & 70m | 36 & 21 Levels
I think that setting the main tower back off Frome Road would do wonders for the aesthetic of this development. Despite the fact that this tower calls for the demolition of the Rhino Room, which is extremely disappointing, I do think that a tower here would bring much needed foot traffic into the pr...

it reminds me of the ill-fated Bentham Street apartment proposal from way back when.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
Where? Name it all and the locations. Ah, it's bullshit is it? Why because my opinion doesn't fit in with your beliefs? Typical politically correct madness that's ruined this country. I don't know what's more hilarious, the fact homosexuals wand to be treated as equals in society, but then expect s...

i think that the train line already does a pretty good job of this!crawf wrote: Interesting design, going to make a huge visual impact (height wise) but I'm lil worried these buildings are going to block the riverbank from North Terrace, similar to ASER.

[COM] Re: #U/C: Uni of Adelaide - Med School | 62m | 13lvl | $120m
I would presume that the internal fit out for a med school would be much more expensive than that of an apartment building, hence the higher cost of construction.

the fact that this has no ugly 70m high concrete wall means it gets a thumbs up from me.
it's an ideal location in a relatively low traffic area. i hope to see more developments of this scale around whitmore square.

Re: Adelaide University - Developments & News
I think they could have gotten a lot more people involved and sent a stronger message if they stayed focused on the main issue which was meant to be about cuts to higher education. Instead, it just came across as a protest against Tony Abbott, which let's be honest, nobody in power is actually going...

Re: Aaaargh! My favourite shop's gone!
What was the Mariana Market? After one of the shops on the edge of Central Market had a dispute with Adelaide City Council over what was meant by Asian vegetables they moved across the street to a new, much bigger shop next to the bus station, and named it after where they were from. It had a bette...

we made the mistake once with the monstrosities adjacent to the strathmore. not again. north terrace deserves better imo.
