[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

The whole area needs to be looked at as one precinct not as individual projects. From Montefiore Road to Pennington Tce to Frome Road/War Memorial Drive on the eastern side and to the southern side of the Torrens- elder park & the boat house and restaraunt, and Torrens Parade Ground. On the one sid...

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Why would you need to get rid of them... Things just need to be moved around What do you want this land to be used for? Be specific. Cheers Uhh.. A multipurpose stadium, the thing we're discussing There's two different multipurpose stadiums in this discussion - one that is a tennis centre court but...

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Plenty of room to build a multipurpose centre court arena over the current grandstand, two show courts plus visitor amenities over Next Gen, and then leave the rest as they've been developing it, with no need to build over pinky flat. Though, I can see the advantages in closing Memorial Drive to tra...

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Why would we split up the potential CBD sports precinct by moving the Tennis out to what is effectively the middle of nowhere as far as public transport and hospitality/retail is concerned instead of moving the Netball to Memorial Drive?

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Pretty sure that Tennis SA and the SMA aren't on the same page - Tennis SA has their long term idea for Memorial Drive, the AVMA proposed their new stadium idea for the railyards, and the SMA wants most of the Tennis SA idea to be built but with the main arena on the golf course, and then handed to ...

Is 'modernising rail services' political spin for privatisation?
That is exactly what it is

The concrete pump was up above the climber box on the way home tonight, albeit abandoned due to the weather, so another core rise must be imminent

It also has the smell of vastly scaling back the space originally dedicated to the modern art gallery so that they can use it to build that hotel of theirs instead.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I was on the bus home one day this week and saw them laying down what looked like that purple irrigation hose grid, same as the stuff at Oaklands, on the eastern side of the newly opened on ramp, more or less opposite BP/McDonalds, so I think that's going to be a planted area

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Beyond fare hikes, privatisation and park-and-rides, it appears the Liberals have no plans for public transport infrastructure in this term with the possible exception of an O-Bahn 'extension' to Golden Grove (Gawler electrification is an ongoing project and doesn't count). Also no sign of them com...

Knoll said the Government would ensure that “the existing frontline workforce will be provided with the greatest level of opportunity for ongoing work”.
The existing work force will get first go at having to apply for their old jobs on casual contracts at half the rate, magnanimous gesture.

The SACA board are really on board, spruiking the development and its ‘stunning’ (their words) plans to its members. Stunning as the plans may be the clunky design shown in the renders is just so disappointing looking more like a mediocre block of flats tacked on as an afterthought than an architec...

[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

Haven't been to Perth stadium, but I have been to Marvel, and it's trash compared to AO. I've sat in every stand at AO since the rebuild for either football, soccer, or cricket, and never had an issue seeing all of the playing area from my seat, and I'm talking after they rejigged the cricket member...
