Re: News & Developments: Prospect

There's seems to be some activity at the Kaufland site. Hopefully they're starting to build it.

Demolition of the old Le Cornu building has commenced.
Thank you for the update.

I wonder when they'll start building Kaufland?

Foodland at Mitcham has them too
And Fulham Gardens.
The Drakes Foodlands at Grange and Old Reynella have them too.
And Golden Grove.

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

Long overdue - it's a very bland and depressing road at the moment and a nightmare to walk along in the summer due to the complete lack of shade. Hopefully the landscaping will be maintained into the future. It's about time SOMETHING was done. It has changed very little in the past few decades. You...

Coles at Churchill Centre is in an ideal location to set up a hot dog stand to sell hot dogs. Now that Costco don't allow non members into the snackbar Coles could capture some of those customers and more.
Do you have any idea why Costco have done that? Is it Australia-wide?

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

Thanks for posting the article Jaymz. I'm glad that it finally got approval. Hopefully it'll open at the same time as the Melbourne stores. It's a pity the size has shrunk quite significantly but it's still very large. I just don't want the size to impact the amount of groceries they stock too much...

[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (Extension)

The stores they are closing are mainly in Regional centers from what I've read. I used to work at this store many years ago and it was by far the most profitable in the state. They would not close it. I would say the ones in trouble are Brickworks, Golden Grove and Hallett cove. I'd say the rest ar...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Aldi is open as of the 19th. It's the only shop open in the new part of the shopping centre so far (there are signs for new retailers due to open though). The counters where the staff place your groceries after scanning them are a lot longer at this one. There's a new article (behind a paywall) stat...

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

An article from nearly a year ago stated that Kaufland was expected to open seven to ten stores during their initial rollout. Today, they only announced three Melbourne stores. Could they announce more later? I have no understanding of how this works but I'm just hoping that the Adelaide stores won'...

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

There are several new articles about Kaufland today. The distribution centre will be built in Melbourne. There was no mention of Adelaide stores in the article (the one that wasn't behind the paywall), only three Melbourne stores. I thought the Forrestville site was going to be their flagship store.

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

There's a new article about Kaufland getting approval for their Prospect store but it's behind a paywall. Would someone be kind enough to post it?
