Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

Looks like another 'pop up' builder has won the job. Only had an approved builder's licence for 1 month with Chinese Directors.

Touch and go whether a tower crane is required or whether it's just a mobile for the structure. Will find out in a few weeks I guess.

That is what happens when you jump from the frying pan and into the fire.

Apparently M & B are likely to take over after the developer complained about poor performance and delays on the 262 South Terrace project (which I disagree with).

In the photo it appears as if I can see daylight through those 2 sections without glass. Does that mean what ever facilities they have on these levels will be in a wind tunnel?
There is 1.8m high glass balustrade to be installed on levels 10 and 21, eventually.

That's a very insular perspective. The build should be awarded to whoever puts in the best quote. What should happen doesn't always happen. I am sure that you heard of 'preferred tenderers', where other builders essentially don't even get a leg in. I didn't even see this project go out to tender an...

It's a shame that another large project in Adelaide's CBD has gone to a Melbourne builder.

PANS-OPS isn't the limiting surface in that location - the RTCC is the airspace limit for most of the eastern half of the CBD. The RTCC exactly matches the tallest antenna on Westpac (182.9m AHD or approx 136m above ground). Approval is required to breach the RTCC for any amount of time. I assume A...

After the calamity with the form work deck failure on Level 35 last week, the job has more or less been at a standstill, structurally. That said, Level 35 was actually poured today with another pour tomorrow (2 stage pour). It definitely hasn't topped out yet - level 36 concrete slab steps back slig...
