Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

What makes you think it will be a Hypermarket concept? My understanding is it's still going to be a separate Woolies (largest in Australia apparently) and separate Big W. abc mentioned Hypermarkets would do well in Australia, but I don't think that's the concept here at Pt Plaza- just another wooli...

[COM] Re: Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m

According to an email Mrs Columbo received from Macca's customer service the Arndale store has permanently closed. Guessing it's no longer officially part of Arndale but the area of land that was up for sale on the corner of First Avenue and Gray street appears to have been pegged out, maybe some wo...

The dining precinct, an expand one in fact, if Arndale ever gets one, should be between the main shopping centre and the cinemas, accessible from both. The whole point should be to generate foot traffic and people coming in. Where centrelink is now is not connected to the shopping centre nor the ci...

According to ABN the trustee owns Croydon and Woodville store too
That would explain why the feedback reply I received a few months back came from the Woodville store franchisee.
Today the boards around the store have been covered in Christmas pictures.

McDonalds has been boarded up today, suspected it would be just for a bit of a re-fit but no signs or information anywhere so hard to know, however just checked on the McDonalds website for the Arndale store and was presented with an Oops not found page and it's no longer showing up on the map on th...

Re: News & Developments: Other Suburban Retail

I thought with the redevelopment of the Port Plaza, which looks good, that there would have also been an upgrade of both K-Mart and Coles during that work. I was down there just prior to Christmas last year and was surprised how tired it and dated it looked compared to other K-marts and although Col...

Hopefully they build some 4-6 level mixed use. Ground floor retail and upper levels residential apartments, with an improvement to the bus interchange to be more then just a bunch of bus shelters. Shame it doesn't include the salvos store getting bulldozed. Will be interesting what happens, bus int...

Foodland is getting a renovation finally. Looks like a new entrance is also being built next to it on the bus interchange side. Seems that Foodland might have exits from the checkouts (like woolies) to the new walkway that will join up to the existing mall, assuming they will close up the existing ...

Hopefully they totally refurbish the place including new reclining chairs in the cinemas etc I would assume they would be doing this - would be awkward opening up a Hoyts that looks like a Greater Union :D Leave those antics to Foodland :D Wondering if some upgrades to Foodland may be about to star...

Went down to Churchill Centre today for the first time in a while today, quite a number of empty shops there at present. Fruit and Veg shop, Bank SA, Commonwealth Bank, Sabroso Burgers the ones of note that are no longer there. Noooooo :( Had heard they were pretty good. Their Facebook page hasn't ...

The bridge is in and in use. Underneath looks fairly complete also. Foot bridge is in and looks complete. Most landscaping looks complete. Footbridge is open but is only accessible via the ramps. For some reason the stairs are closed off and have been pretty much since it opened. Number of workers ...

Heard a whisper that the cinemas may reopen as Hoyts, not sure when though. Would be a pity to see the facility not being utilised so hopefully its true. Highly doubt this. With no fanfare whatsoever the Pym St pedestrian overpass is now open and the 2 pedestrian crossings have been been removed. Both sets of stairs and the ramp are open on the eastern side. On the western side only the ramp was open this afternoon, both sets of stairs and the footpath still fenced off.
