I thought it was a temporary hoarding to protect the stairs from the construction site. I think what he's getting at... is if this is the fire escape for the AFL building, then should it not have had its own wall around the stairwell? I'm looking at the State Admin Centre across the road and that p...

It's a very exciting development, certainly will add bulk to the southern part of the CBD. Would also look pretty good when coming off the freeway, Vue already creates quite an impact from that view.

[COM] Re: Rundle Place | 76m | 15lvls | Retail & Office

Just to add to the HS discussion. I went there this morning and bought some clothing, mostly for work. I don't generally mind it, I find it certainly in the middle of BigW and Myer in regards to quality. But in regards to pricing they try to put it up to the Myer/DJ end of the spectrum. What I found...

That's a brilliant photo. Can't wait for this one to complete. From the distance it adds quite a bit of height to the southern end. :)

I work in Vic Sq so I get to watch this one go up, and I am quite impressed with its size. It is most certainly going to add some much needed height to the southern end of the CBD. :D

The empty lot next to the carpark has been cleared. Any news on whether the project was approved?

Re: Common sense on the roads of Adelaide

Probably the most annoying thing I have noticed lately on the roads are drivers who are either looking for a park, or looking for that street and they drive part in the bike lane and part in the car lane going about 10-15k slower. To make it worse they dont indicate or anything of the sort to let th...

Re: Adelaide's best coffee?

Right now I am absolutely loving coffee from Blefari cafe on Vic Sq (east side, cnr of Flinders). Only opened up early this year and appears to be extremely popular as its always busy. I am now becoming a frequent customer there as the coffees great and the service is excellent :) Another place whic...

A bit disappointing, but not terrible. I still think it would look alright, I personally like the look on the old SA Water building.

We shall see what happens though with the State Gov DAC as they generally approve these things without many objections.

[COM] Re: SWP Rundle Pl:Bendigo-Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 72

It would of been nice if they could of incorporated the facade into the building design. There are many buildings around Adelaide that have done this, ie. Westpac House or I think Chesser House also (not too sure on that one). I would of kept character and a bit of heritage whilst allowing for the s...

Not bad, although much prefer the original design. Shame its not a few metres higher, but at least it will add to the density.

Has Big W at Monarto got a rail siding yet? Surely that is the intention, with that site right next to the rail line? No I dont think so, but I am pretty sure but when BigW was built there intentions was to have rail access. But It would probably be quicker on the bus especially if its along the fr...

Yeah there have been proposals about unloading freight at Monarto, but I don't think it will eventuate just yet. Though big W for example which is out at monarto usually gets its shipping containers trucked from Pt Adelaide, i don't see whats wrong with it being sent up by train instead. Also i've b...
