Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

Get out of your car and look at the big picture, not just what you think you perceive from your driver's seat. Imagine if that bus that's in "your way" was replaced with cars. There'd be between 20 and 60 more cars in "your way". Hrm? I never said the busses shouldn't be on the road. They absolutel...

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

Indeed. Hopefully they 'screw it up' so much that buses can go past cars without getting stuck in traffic and passengers get to their destinations faster. Until such time that busses actually drive at a reasonable speed and not at 30 in a 60 zone, or sit at a stop for 10 minutes so they can keep to...

Re: #COM: Northern Expressway | 22km

As a frequent traveller to the Barossa, I'm been really looking forward to this road opening. I'll get to try it out for the first time on the weekend. I'll be very interested to see how much time/petrol it saves. Missing out on all those start stops at the traffic lights on Main North Road and the ...

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

Great, now lets see just how much they screw up Grenfell/Currie street in the process. The traffic light sequencing is pooched enough as it is, add to that the silly lane realignment they did near Pulteney street last year which now means cars can't get past busses stopped at the bus stop. It's just...

[COM] Re: #COMPLETED - Bakewell Underpass Project

Driving to work this morning, I saw a brand new fixed speed camera being installed on the down hill run to the Bakewell Underpass coming from the city.

Blatant revenue raising, that is so unbelievably pathetic.

I'm not impressed.

[COM] Re: #U/C: Conservatory on Hindmarsh - 62m, 18 lvls

They're doing around about a floor a week. I've previously been watching them fairly closely, because my desk window looked out directly onto the construction site. There's one basement floor, and it looks like the first few floors above that will be carparks. Reason being, the floor is angled/curve...

[COM] Re: #COMPLETED - Bakewell Underpass Project

I drove through this morning on my way to work, and I'm quite impressed. As others have mentioned, it's nice and wide, open, and spacious. It feels like a freeway/expressway grade road. Though I bet it'd never happen (especially with the Government fetish of lowering speed limits), it'd be nice if t...

http://maps.google.com.au go to satellite view and scroll down to the end of the connector road at South Road. Then you can follow it through.

There's some pics here: http://www.internode.on.net/contact/150grenfell/

I saw the sign on the side of the building the other night, it's quite bright, and can be seen all the way down Grenfell Street and into Currie Street.

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade

I rode the new trams for the first time last night, down to Glenelg and back. They're quite nice inside, certainly a lot better than the older trams. Two things that I find most interesting are that passengers are required to push the buttons to open the doors, I see this as a good and a bad thing. ...

[COM] Re: Bakewell Underpass Project - Updates

Lots of work happening at the Currie Street / Glover Avenue and West Terrace intersection. They seem to be doing some changes to the lanes, etc. hopefully for the better. It'd be nice to know in detail, what they're doing. At the other end of the project on Henley Beach Road, the fences seem to be g...

[COM] Re: Bakewell Underpass Project - Updates

I would like to see Holbrooks diverted east to connect with Marion, to avoid the queue in HBR of traffic from Holbrooks turning right into Marion. Much as I'd like to see that happen too, I don't think it'll ever happen. There's too many properties between the two of them. Taking out Red Rooster an...

[COM] Re: Bakewell Underpass Project - Updates

I noticed today that they've now closed off the Currie Street end of Glover Avenue completely. i.e. no parking, no entry at all. I hope they're doing that so that they can prepare and re-seal that whole section, that'd be nice. As someone who uses Currie Street and Henley Beach Road to get to work a...

They seem to be doing 'something' to the current intersection, it looks half done, looks like they're re-aligning it in some way. They've moved some of the traffic lights that point down Henley Beach Road.
