Re: News & Discussion: MetroCard System

Ah that makes sense. The recharge is instantaneous, but the payment processing can be later. Thanks. How would that work if the payment was declined for say, Insufficient Funds or an Expired Card? Isn't there the potential then for the recharge to have been made and the payment for that recharge la...

[COM] Re: SWP: Goodwood Junction Rail Underpass | $110m

Re: Leader Street - the plan is for a road overpass to be built. Is there an actual plan for this? The only indication of work I can find in my quick search on this is that the level crossing at Leader Street will be reconstructed as part of the the Goodwood Rail Underpass project. I would have als...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass

The Oaklands rail overpass in my opinion is a waste of money at this point in time, the rail overpass will be for the benefit of the road users only, and its construction will be very disruptive for the rail commuters, another 6-8 months of buses I guess? If road users want a faster trip, then simp...

[COM] Re: #U/C: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km

Took a video coming down the Expressway this morning to show the lane closure where the rocks from the blasting earlier this week pushed the barrier into the left lane. It was a bit of a first attempt experiment so the quality is not great, I might look at getting a better quality one next week, but...

Re: #UC: Noarlunga - Seaford rail extension

A time lapse video of the construction of the the bridge is now available on DTEISouthAust's YouTube channel. It shows full time lapse captures from both Northern and Southern construction sites as well as a side view of the over all bridge being pushed into place. Pretty Impressive stuff. http://ww...

[COM] Re: #U/C: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km

It's Seems Tuesday's Controlled Explosions along the Darlington Escarpment were not quite so "Controlled". Rock from the blasting has come down and pushed the concrete and fencing safety barriers into the closest lane of the expressway. As a result this lane is now closed to traffic until late Sunda...

[COM] Re: #U/C: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km

The Expressway was supposed to be closed last weekend to allow the workers access to the underside of the Seacombe Rd bridge, But looking at the Bridge yesterday, it didn't seem like much had changed. The only obvious thing I could see that had changed was that the Temporary supports for the Seacom...

[PRO] Re: #PRO: $800 million rail extension to Aldinga

This concerns me greatly, what don't they want us to know about these routes? Have you considered that they don't actually know what the station locations are yet? It is very eary days. I can understand that, perhaps I am simply Impatient and I am happy to acknowledge that. I am not so concerned ab...

They Really need to release the proposed routes and station locations for Public consultation. Let us see what is being planned. Why are they being secretive about it? I've read a couple of stories about this now where the proposed routes aren't being released and consultation is happening only with...

Re: Public transport smartcard system

Does anybody else think it's a bit of a security issue displaying the balance left on your card? I'm not sure i want broadcast on the train that I have $63.12 left on my card to everyone on the train. Perhaps just show the balance when it's getting low? Not sure of other options... Sounds like this...

Re: NBN News & Updates

I would hard call being included in the 3 year roll out plan "skipping" the Adelaide CBD. That indicates that construction will start for that area within 3 years. Given it's a 10 year rollout for the country, it's not bad really. The bottom line is that they couldn't build out everywhere at the sam...

They shouldn't need to? Isn't that why they are building facilities at Seaford Meadows as well?
