Re: #UC: Noarlunga - Seaford rail extension

This is project seems to be progressing quite nicely and quickly, but can anyone tell me if it will be open prior to the whole line being electrified. In other words if they finish this extension late this year, does that mean it will remain unused until the late 2013 when the whole Nourlunga line ...

Re: New Plan for Britannia Roundabout

I think you would be suprised by just how much traffic uses that section of Fullarton Road, right across the day, but particularly during peak times. I would be fairly certain Angas Street residents would not be impressed. It may also be a standard emergency service vehicle route, I am not certain o...

Noticed over the last week variable message boards displaying notices advising the Seacombe Road bridge will be closed from 5th may to Nov. Exact wording "Seacombe Rd bridge, Closed 5th may to Nov". Is this the first bridge to be rebuilt? Some fencing "ala clipsal style" has been placed on the conc...

Clearing of the vegetation has begun. Finally something visual is happening! Does anyone know what's happening with the works on the corner of Diagonal and Seacombe road? My first thought was they are moving the corner away from the bridge which will have to be expanded to fit the north track of th...

Just to clarify; There will be 3 northbound and 3 southbound lanes between Old Noarlunga and Reynella interchanges, and then 4 northbound and 3 south bound lanes between Reynella and Darlington interchanges? Re: Electrification and Resleepering of suburban rail networ

I remember hearing something about the ability to buy standard gauge rollingstock "off the shelf", which made gauge conversion worthwhile. But if we're buying broad gauge rollingstock ..... I remember this also, which is why I'm a bit confused as to what is actually happenning with all of this. Doe...

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of suburban rail networ

Converting the track to standard gauge in 2016 has been the plan for a long time now. The trains the Government has ordered are all broad gauge. What's the point of going to Standard Gauge at all then? If you've got broad gauge track with Broad gauge trains running on it, there's no need to change ...

As posted by a construction worker on another forum: today [18 Oct 2011] sees the first span from the northern side slide out over River Road from 9am. Drove past and had a look this evening (19th), and the span has moved, the Steel "nose" attached to the span is now just overhanging River road. It...

No They Haven't. I was down having a look this morning and there's been no movement on that.

Would be quite interested to know if anyone has an idea on when this might start happenning, would be a sight to see I think, Although very slow sight I suspect.
