Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I still think the most simple plan is best.....north-south line Riverbank to Glenelg, east west line Entertainment Centre to East End. The problem with this plan is that anyone travelling the Glenelg line and being destined to a location west of the KW St intersection will suddenly lose the amenity...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Do we have any idea what kind of timetable will be used with the new extension? will every second tram go east instead of west? How often will they go up to the Festival Center? Well I don't think that every second tram traveling east would be possible if the intersection as shown in the PDF linked...

Does anyone have copies of the renders for RMP? With Photobuckets annoying ransom I missed out on seeing them.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

While I don't disagree that they may not be so concerned about a significant 'external frontage', one has prominence in the Emporium while the other could potentially have an escalator up to a tacky CX space.

I agree with Nathan that both sites would seem unsuitable to Uniqlo.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Urban Sprawl & Density

By accurate I meant to scale.

Newark is very much part of the greater NYC contiguous urban zone so its inclusion makes total sense. The 'Northeast Megalopolis' on the other hand....

^^^ Here's an image that has been floating around for a few years. https://sustainingpeople.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/urban-areas2-1024x479.jpg Not sure how accurate it is; I feel like Sydney and Melbourne should be slightly larger than they appear on that graphic compared to the width of Adelaide...

[APP] Re: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | Mixed Use

Con, please consider selling your beloved site to Theo and Steve. North Adelaide could use the vision and wizardry they applied to the East End. Hoooooold on a second, before you start making such stupid comments let's put some little-known facts out there... Theo was the reason this site was never...

Sandy Wilkinson is no authority on cityscape and design. Can you imagine if this monstrosity he designed had gone up in place of Liberty Towers in Glenelg some years back?

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

So it would effectively be Collins St but with buses instead of trams. Sounds amazing - along with the PT benefits I couldn't think of a better way to unify the retail and business parts of the CBD than getting rid of the 4 lane highway of single occupant cars that is Grenfell St. Clearly too good ...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

The number of sleazy late night massage parlours that have opened over the last few years has been absolutely disgraceful. But I guess when we have the highest unemployment level in Australia then many Asian females are going to revert to this type of work. Always enjoy your cultural insights :? Wo...

On that note, does anyone know why they didn't acquire the paving centre as part of this stage? There would have to be a valid reason given how tight that section is. Only thing I can think of is that they are perhaps looking to realign the road over the old Cadbury site opposite at some stage.

For me this development is actually the most attractive of the current bunch and far superior to Kodo in every aspect. - Better location (next to Leigh/Peel St precinct; closer to Rundle Mall; closer to the business district proper; closer to Riverbank etc etc) - Aesthetic - likely to be the best lo...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The tram is a bit slow from Glenelg to South Tce, 26mins to cover 10km, in comparison the train from Brighton is 28min to cover 16km (all stops). The big problem is the 14mins the tram takes to get from South Tce to the train station. In comparison the bus takes 28mins to get to Rundle mall, the tr...

For a resi development this looks really slick. It is bizarre to think we have two sales offices open right now with models of buildings taller than Westpac. I just wish either this or Realm had a more unique silhouette to give the skyline a bit more variety, especially given they will both be aroun...
