Re: Bowden Village TOD (Clipsal site)

I think this is a really exciting development for Adelaide.....an urban area outside the CBD (that's not Glenelg) with good public transport connections and the possibility of life happening 18 hours a day (as opposed to suburbia where the shutters come down at 6 pm) Its really important that as man...

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of suburban rail networ

Are they going to upgrade Salisbury Station? It desparately needs a make-over to bring it into the modern world, especially if it is supposed to be the centre of the future Salisbury TOD. Walking over train tracks to get to the other platform should be an anachronism in this day and age.

[COM] Re: PRO: Bowden Rail Tunnel | 1km $418m

The tram continues along Port Rd and turns right into East St joining the train line (which resurfaces west of the Bowden station) creating a train/tram transport corridor.

Re: Train v Tram/Train v Tram v Road Bus v O-Bahn

Personally I think then reason the O-Bahn hasn't been copied in other parts of the world is that tram/light rail presents a far better alternative- higher capacity/easier upgrading of capacity i.e. more trams/more attractive to the travelling public. The O-Bahn is German technology but I think you w...

Re: Rail Line to Flinders Uni

Does the South Australian Government seriously expect those trams to fulfill peak-hour transport needs from Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre, the Sturt Park'n'Ride and the Tonsley Super Tafe? They can't be serious!-talk about underestimating how successful this train line can be!

Re: Rail Line to Flinders Uni

The video shows trams running to Flinders University, the government release talks about tram-trains but surely it should be a heavy rail corridor fully grade separated (or at least our new "light" heavy rail trains or light metro) This corridor has the potential to move thousands of people at peak ...

VISION : ADELAIDE METRO TRAIN/TRAM SYSTEM Here is my vision of a "future Adelaide" with an upgraded train and tram system. Re: Mitsubishi Tonsley Site

Yet another good reason for the rebuilding and extension of the Tonsley train line to service the new super TAFE campus, Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University (with a possible bus interchange servicing the suburbs to the south providing quick train travel into the city.)

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr

What about having 2 passing points (an extra section of track where a tram could pull over) in both directions? The platform issue is probably quite an easy fix-build a tram platform at the end of each train station where necessary with appropiate electronic signage indicating the next "train" to ar...

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr

No the train line remains and is electrified. Bowden Station may be rebuilt underground so that the TOD can be built above and around the station area. After the electrification of the Outer Harbor line the SA government had plnned to buy dual- voltage trams that can run on the line joining the trai...

Are you serious? Keswick has nothing in common with either Docklands in Melbourne or London....Dublin I dont know. Keswick feels some random rundowm inner city area in a US city- I dont see a Docklands style future.

Re: #Official - Demographics

Mt.Barker should be included in the Adelaide Statistical Division-its an absolute joke that it isnt! For example the Sydney SD includes the lower half of the Central Coast which is 100 ( I repeat one hundred or more kilometres from Centaral Station Sydney) Even little old Adelaide has now got exurba...
