Re: #UC: 5 lvl Car Park & Pedestrian Plaza - Adelaide Airpor

I dont undertsand how you can estimate the success of an airport? Surely an airport being either good or bad wouldnt dictate the amount of people travelling through it? If people need to/want to come to adelaide or go elsewhere on holiday/business, they are going to, regardless of what the airport ...

The building will probably look quite nice when it's brand new, if they aren't really strict on maintaining the facade though it's going to look really bad really quickly.

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment - General Discussion Thread

I still can't get my head around what some people find so historically important about a patch of grass referred to as "the hill". Btw, I believe the capacity of 50,000 that the redevelopment will give, includes the grandstands only, and the seating that will be placed at the bottom of the hill nea...

Target and Big W appear to have the cheapest DVD's and Blu rays going around - that is the reason that the...

[COM] Re: SWP: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $1.7b

Someone missed a piece of paperwork on a meaningless technicality, get it filed, not a big deal.

It's not like they were trying to sneakily get rid of the rail yards, as the article says the hospital itself already has approval, so it's not like anyone expecting the sheds to be staying there.

[PRO] Re: #ONH: Westfield Marion Expansion | $280m | 150,000sqm

In terms of number of stores, Westfield Marion has 325 and The Trafford Centre has 230 (according to both centres own websites). However in terms of overall floor space I'd still say the Trafford centre is probably bigger as the malls are much wider, the food court is enourmous, many of the special...

Re: Inner City Planning Review - First Public Look

One thing i do have to have a laugh at is the though of how much these planning guru's are getting paid as if you trawl this site especially the forum on the trams etc you will read about many of us regulars proposing trams on the Parade, Unley Rd, Prospect Rd, out to the airport etc with with high...

Probably not enough business for one considering there are bowling alleys at both the Ingle Farm and Golden Grove shopping centers.

[COM] Re: APP: 115 King William St | 86M | 25lvls | Office

I think the location is great really. The small footprint of the building actually makes moot a lot of the arguments against it as it is thin enough that it won't be an overwhelming monolith dominating King William Street but will rather add vertical interest to the area without much ground level im...

Although I am annoyed at the reduction in height like everyone else, I don't fully understand the anger being expressed at the architecture of the new design. This is the old design; not exactly a masterpiece, and IMO, more boxy and bland than the current design. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/...

Would the water be deep enough there for cruise ships? Would definitely be a great stopping point for tourists.

Re: NBN News & Updates

If anything the Queensland floods are a reason to bring forward NBN deployment schedules for the affected areas.

In many places the existing phonelines will be trashed and require replacing, may as well go straight to fiber rather than laying down temporary copper.

[ONH] Re: PRO: 51 Pirie Street | 22 levels | 98m | Office

If I have to make one small critique of the building's design, is that I believe the facade on the building's northern elevation needs to be flipped vertically - so that the thinner portion stands above the high pdoium/atrium thingy, and the wider section above the heritage facade. I think it would...
