Oh yeah, nice one. I really like how it has windows n stuff.

Surely not a serious proposal?
We have have a few on the eastern wall... what type of twilight zone is this?
There's no windows on the eastern wall due to the neighboring site.

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Walker responsible for developing the tower, car park and retail and the government responsible for the open plaza areas? Could the landscaping in the new tower/retail render just be generic, even though in the past the render has included the plaza designs we've ...

I still think that that along with China Town, there should be a Little Italy, a Greek Town, Thai & Indian areas..all fronting onto Gouger street. Then within the complex it self have other lesser represented ethnic cuisines. Like a giant global foods market. Is there anywhere in Australia with a h...

Phantom, if the building isn’t built to the approved plans (and if picked up) it may stop it getting certified and occupied (ie no certificate of completion/occupation given). Potentially it could mean the buyers don’t/can’t settle and it could send the developer broke. Trying to get insurance for ...

Re: Beer Garden

Adelaide definitely needs a world-class rectangular stadium. No ifs or buts. I think most here on this forum agree. The location could be the SA Athletics Stadium, but it would be sad to see that go as many use it including schools. I think the best bet is the netball stadium next door. Raise that ...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

It's an ok building for somewhere else, but in this location it has zero response to its location. I see it as pretty analogous to the Brisbane Square building, which I don't much rate, but at least respect the attempt they've made to do something interesting at plaza level. It seems barely conside...

if that's the newest render then it looks like the interesting trellis structures have been turned into basic trees.

Further reinforces the idea that they are just trying to make as much money from the space as they can.

Compare that to this:

If Walker is so convinced that the plan for the area is no good then we should encourage him to pass the project onto another developer. I'm sure we could find one who would be happy to have their name on a landmark public space rather than just seeing it as free CBD land.
