Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Parklands

Lord Mayor Yarwoods plan for a playground in every square (except Victoria) is a great idea....it would be good to also have them in other places like Victoria Park and Botanic Gardens near the zoo where parking is better/safer. What I would also like to see is one really world class adventure playg...

Re: Islington | Developments & News

Heard Cheap as chips are going in and probably Aldi also .... as well as 2-3 "pad" sites at the front of the development ie Coles Express petrol and the usual suspects of either Maccas/KFC/HJs ....

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

If they were smart they could build the cafe alongside the existing elevated public waiting platform...so its long and narrow and between any potential future tram tracks....therefore if/when the tram gets extended they wouldn't have to move anyway....but that would be too much common sense...

[SWP] Re: #PRO: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)

Does anyone know the actual size of the site and how close it gets [at the back] to the River Torrens?
Would a significant channel/man-made canal from the river to the RAH site be feasible?
It would open up a lot of other opportunities and allow waterfront access/dining etc...

Re: Port Adelaide | Developments & News

And why can't the council donate some free land and over ride the govt location and put it where it wants?

Re: Port Adelaide | Developments & News

I still can't believe that the Scottish taxpayers are funding the $1.2m to have it transported here...can anyone explain how the govt/council or whoever manoeuvred this? And why would Scottish govt agree to even pay for it? I then can't believe with all this generosity and effort to transport it why...

Re: Islington | Developments & News

Still surprised how big this development will be for basically Kilburn/Blair Athol (I know people will come from everywhere). I am also surprised as Churchill Rd is almost one lane in parts around this....Considering all the vacant land around the Gepps Cross Homemaker centre (plus more high exposur...

[SWP] Re: #PRO: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)

I agree 100% Skyliner.....absolute shite concepts....no point throwing more good money or time on them imho. to Dog if you go to the Govts own website you will see (n.15 in the FAQs) the six short listed entrants receive $100k each in stage 1 and then in stage 2 the winner gets $200k, 2nd gets $70k ...

[SWP] Re: #PRO: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)

Makes me feel quite sick that the govt is paying $900,000 in prizes for this design competition...it was an unrealistic deadline they gave (as if major companies/architects could drop everything and produce much better with little notice and in a 1-2 month deadline.) The thing is the govt doesn't kn...

Re: Henley Beach/Grange | Developments & News

Basically nice thought but totally unlikely in reality.... The cost of the land alone would be many millions (and they struggled just to fund the actual building for many years when there was no land cost). Further its extremely unlikely the owners would sell ( I haven't seen a freehold site there e...

Anyone know if the video screens are definitely going to be new ones and if so their size.
The reason I ask is I hope they don't just move the old ones from AAMI here.....

Re: Henley Beach/Grange | Developments & News

The previous building sat in front of the same cafes on the same location on the beach for many decades and that building was even brown like a turd! Ok so tell us Dvious considering there has to be surf lifesaving clubs on the beach.... give u...

I totally agree...it seems absurd if this is not addressed or changed drastically before the footbridge opens. If anyone knows of the future plans for this area please let us know as in its current state it truly is a disaster...
