Re: Beer Garden

I saw on TV that Interstate there are 5 star hotels offering their rooms (I assume as they are empty) if the hospitals become full and/or for isolation by those affected by the c virus. Do you think this could happen here? I think there are approx 300 hospital beds set aside here and there are plent...

Re: Deregulation of Shop Trading Hours

With working from home it may be hard for employers to know if or how long the employees are working and also will there be enough work to do in the first place?

Re: Beer Garden

Yes if that happens what’s the flow on effect to our economy, supplies etc? From another thread.. If they shut the borders, would freight/semi deliveries & flights ie cargo in/out of SA then stop? Or would you expect this to be exempt? Does anyone know the value of how much we import vs export (inte...

They are also saying some supplies (ie toilet paper) are going straight from the factories to the shops & not even bothering going to the distribution centres.

Re: Magill/Portrush Road Intersection Upgrade | $98m

One thing to consider is the owners originally chose to buy on a main road in the first place. The value of their home is naturally quite a bit less than if their same house was located a few streets back. They may be getting offered fair value for their home/property now but when they go into the m...

You would assume they have signed a building contract and are committed to continue. Hopefully by the time its finished [1.5 years?] things would be different/better.

Yes and this 10.5 km section to take a decade...1km per year on average...and still years for the design! I mean just do something, anything so people can see it finished within their lifetime.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Fair point if our business plans or projects aren't shovel ready anyway for the funding. But my point is if we had a bigger population & State revenue we wouldn't have to rely on business plans/Federal funds/handouts as much in the first place. Even with the cost/benefit analysis of each project we ...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

While I totally agree and your points about our roads etc are valid, you also need to consider that you are comparing us with a population 4x our size and with Govt [State and Federal] revenue and funding maybe 10x what we get. So if our state had say an extra $5 billion every year [as an example], ...

I'm wondering if the helipad was instead for a building in the Adelaide CBD if it would get approved? In Melb & Sydney there are probably CEOs that take helicopters to work/home everyday. Is there any buildings here in our CBD with helipads [apart for the NRAH]?

Flopo, the new casino hotel will def. have a pool. From their website, “Adelaide's most luxurious hotel, a wellness centre including day spa, pool and gym as well as additional signature restaurants and bars.”

How much was the fare? I'm pretty sure flights are cheaper [as well as far quicker] also, right?
