[U/C] Re: 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Crowne Plaza / Adelaidean | New tallest

From what I can see there's some prefabricated concrete panels added to the core now. Definitely getting taller. They're definitely going up a few more levels, noticed yesterday that they've added more of that exterior mesh safety framing on the northern size of the building above where the current...

The massive shoe shed tenancy in the myer centre has closed up. jrs and Origani have also closed.

They really need to attract a tenant like Zara to bring foot traffic.
They won't do it... Zara of any size would directly compete with Myer.

[U/C] Re: 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Crowne Plaza / Adelaidean | New tallest

I got the same email as Ben and thought it was weird. I spoke to someone working on the project today and they said they understood it just had 1-2 levels of steel (roof framing) to go. It looks too low - quite a few levels lower than Westpac - but why would they stop the core if it's going higher?...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Do we know for sure that the entire third floor was made available to H&M as retail space? I agree that it is a very small store, especially the men's department. I have been to the H&M stores in Sydney and Melbourne CBD, but cannot compare it to some of the smaller stores interstate. I have been t...

Innovation precinct at Lot Fourteen on North Tce to be rezoned to allow accommodation and tourism Adelaide’s innovation precinct will be rezoned under a State Government plan that could see a hotel built on the site. The State Government has moved to rezone Lot Fourteen to potentially allow a bouti...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

It has nothing to do with smaller population. There is and always has been a major shortage of large lettable tenancies in the Rundle Mall precinct, which means that mini-majors are forced to provide smaller format stores if they have any desire of opening in the CBD. When Zara opened at Burnside i...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

There are Forever New signs on the City Cross Tenancy. Not an international major unfortunately. Oh damn, explains where Forever New were going to end up but what a waste. City X really needs to sort it's shit out. Terrible layout, declining appeal in terms of retail and food offerings and no matte...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

There is a 'for lease' sign outside the corner tenancy of Rundle Square, I think it was Ben who said that Sushi Train and KFC were moving into the centre, has this fallen through? Also, where can one find planning applications for retail fit outs and the like? I use to go through the ACC website but...

[...] Also, not sure if anyone has noticed or whether this has been the case for ages, but it looks like they've upgraded the grass images at all of the gates to represent how Adelaide is looking nowadays. Did you mean the "gross" images? Cheers Haha, funnily enough, I meant 'glass' but yes, gross ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I know someone currently working on the expansion project. A couple of things that I picked up from talking to them was that some of the interior fit out looks awful (mirroring the worth of the 80s), the Virgin lounge is going to be huge, but most importantly that we should expect an announcement of...

Genuine skyscraper - check, Exceptional design - check, Quality materials used - check, Ground activation - check, Integration with heritage elements - check. Realm really trumps everything else that's been happening and yet to happen in Adelaide. It should set a benchmark for the DAC when reviewing...

[COM] Re: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m

Agreed with all of the points raised. I think squaring the square should be the next focus... It's the best way to get the State government involved and committed to finishing off the entire masterplan within a suitable timeframe and if the ACC were to only work on the southern half, it's only going...

[APP] Re: 64 Currie Street | 92m | 25 Levels | QT Hotel/Office

I really don't know how I feel about this. It's not pretty based off of the images. I can't imagine it looking any better in person. It looks dated as most of the other cement blocks in the city built through the 70's. Yes I have to agree and said so earlier in the thread that I didn't really rate ...
