[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

You know SA Water in Victoria Square? Build a steel frame with patterned coloured-glass all round. This will also cover and improve the look of the upper part of the stadium where you see the unberbelly of the terraces. This could be done when they build the Northern Stand and when they raise the h...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Really difficult to understand how they get those rankings, I fly a lot through a number of airports on this list, while Adelaide may not have the same level of amenities (both lounges could do with an update - virgin could use more space, Qantas less space but better appointed) it is fantastic at ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

This is an interesting point. If the time saved daily by your wife is magnified by the number of people who are making this same time saving daily, and remember this is ongoing , I believe the money was well spent. Just my opinion, and as you say, we can disagree :) and [...] In terms of what the t...

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

https://www.foodmag.com.au/aldi-rival-kaufland-arrives-in-australia/ One of the world’s largest retailers, Kaufland, has broken ground to commence construction of its first South Australian supermarket in Prospect, their first outside of Europe. It is one of three stores it will be building in Aust...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

It will be an otr convenience I believe. A bit further up the page, people are blaming Rundle Mall Foodland for the loss of three convenience stores. This new convenience store would be a similar distance from Foodland as the closest of those three. Explains a lot. That Krispy Kreme was only meant ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The same can be said for the Elder Park stop, the big garden beds at the end of the tracks have no plants whatsoever and have exposed sprinkler piping... Been this way for weeks.

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Am I the only one that thinks this is a colossal waste of time and money. Why not redevelop the site into something for the long term that can host commonwealth games matches ect. This is a short term cosmetic fix but an expensive one. Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this was necessary at a m...

The lighting on the edges of our bridge looks pathetic and cheap. You think that everything is pathetic and cheap. No he doesn't think everything is pathetic and cheap, it's just those developments that are half-hearted, patch-up jobs... I know many of you here disagree with me and rev on AO. Yes, ...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

With the new Foodland in full swing, small convenience stores in the city are now gradually becoming a thing of the past. Just recently, three stores; KBS Convenience (Currie St), City Convenience (Grenfell St) and KW Cornerstore (Cnr Waymouth St/King William St) have shut up shop. And there was no...

[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

Whether or not one agrees with this development (in my case, I don't agree with it), there is something very concerning about the severe lack of public consultation over these such developments that are built on publicly owned land. The same goes for the Festival Plaza, O-RAH site and so forth... Es...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

What criteria was that list founded on? Not sure how Adelaide is so low by comparison to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Considering Perth and Sydney have separate buildings for their domestic and international terminals, meanwhile Melbourne has one of the most dated and maze-like terminal in Australia.

What a joke that "hanging garden" is! Looks like it was done 'el cheapo' like everything else on this building. My bet is half of the plants will die. :wallbash: A human takes 9 months to grow inside of its mother's womb, it then takes years for a baby to become a full-grown adult. So why is it tha...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

With regards to the planter boxes, I don't have a problem with them in laneways such as this. But I note that they're popping up around the place of late, notably on North Terrace and they kind of look tacky... Why not make proper gardens?

What a poorly written article... I don't think I've ever read anywhere that Australia's east coast airports are the best in the country, in-fact the exact opposite...

Didn't you once say you were related to them or something? They still own it, it's still listed in their portfolio on their site. I was, once. That engagement ended a few years ago, around the time they started relocating their operations to the Sunshine Coast. I hold no allegiance anymore. M...
