[VIS] Re: interstate passenger trains back to the Adel Railway Station
Love some of the dreaming but it's not exactly easy to do major developments in the parklands in Adelaide, and given at the moment we only have a twice-a-week service to Melbourne that's propped up by government funding and the Indian Pacific which works fine at the current terminal... realistically...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Underpass
Looks great. Hope they actually keep the grassed area long term, this area could do with a bit more grass around!

The Labor Party has announced that if re-elected, it wo...

Re: Adelaide Hills | Developments & News
Looks great, but I would love more detail on the plans, especially the hotel, the shopping village and the cable car. Will there also be access improvements to the summit? A roundabout at the entrance would be a great start, as well as better public transport access. I would have thought you use th...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
I remember reading that. Looks good. Was there ever a reason given for the elevated road from Edward St to Daw's Road? Would prefer a trench the whole way - but I'm sure there's plenty of time for those things to be changed anyway. I think they had an option to include grade separating the rail line...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
Settle down their Rev, the discussion's not about whether it should be built, just whether a trench or a tunnel is the best way to go, given the nature of the area.... The nature of the area is that they live on a major north south artery. Their opinions should be sympathized with, and then i...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
Sorry I'm thinking about the Hills in my post. I think most would agree that the better way to get to Victor from Adelaide would be via Seaford, but the point is there is a rail corridor already there through Mount Barker. Still operational too if you count the Steamranger. There'd need to be a gau...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
If they divert freight to the North at some point then the idea is worth thinking about I reckon. Just times all the expected travel times by 1.5 and you're getting closer to being realistic. Just upgrading the current track and maybe gauge converting. I dont mean using the freight line, I mean bui...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
Was a bit surprised to see the Tonsley station go, but given that the new station will be slightly less than 1km (?) from where Tonsley station is now, I actually like the decision. With Flinders Station, Tonsley and Clovelly park you'd have about 3 stations in 3km. Better to cut down the stations s...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
I'm no expert here, but I remember travelling on the Overland and being surprised at how quickly we went from the hills through to the city. I wonder if you had an express Mt Barker -> Blackwood -> Mitcham -> City service, or something like that, if it could be done faster? Especially if you're usin...

The Socceroos were on the diverted Etihad flight on the way from Saudi Arabia to Melbourne for their game against Japan last night apparently.
