Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Given trains are currently running, it can't be an issue with the current signal controls, so it has to be a problem to do with the new control centre

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

They're moving train control from the beige building on North Tce to the rail yards at Wingfield(?). The problem is they have delayed it from this weekend to next weekend.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

DPTI reply to a comment on their Facebook page: "speed limits on the lowered motorway will remain at the current posted 60km/hr until final asphalt compliance test results are received that satisfy increasing the speed limit. A new asphalt mix has been used on T2T to lessen maintenance, and there is...

It's just an idea I had. I would imagine that a replacement for the 3000s would be sought within the next 10 years (the oldest are 31 years old this year)

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Outer Harbor going through the loop would be hard, because where dos it go after? Can you run diesel trains through the tunnel? Belair (and Tonsley) would be the logical choice if all lines get electrified. You could easily run 20 tph in each direction so all trains could run through. The numbers a...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

At the moment you wouldn't as there is no reason to duplicate that section of line.
I'd have to have another look, but I recall the viaduct is balanced on the middle of the pylons so changing the western side to rail wouldn't really affect anything

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Looking at the design in the planning approval, I suspect the path could be removed and a second line added without rebuilding the bridge

Surprised to read on comments here some sections are 2 lanes only heading north? I really think this will bite them in the not too distant future. Merging on expressways is a major cause for congestion. If the trench is wide enough, why have they not just kept the number of lanes consistent? Once t...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

The next traffic switch letter was sent out by email yesterday, but I haven't seen it on the website yet.

The weekend of July 28 will see traffic over the first expressway bridge
