[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

Both ideas are flawed. The Memorial Drive option is too small. I think 12,000-15,000 needs to be the size of any new indoor arena, otherwise we may as well just keep the AEC. Also, it sounds like Memorial Drive is going to rely heavily on Adelaide Oval facilities and staff. This will result in job ...

[VIS] Re: A new inner-city stadium is one of a raft of big ticket projects on the government's agenda this year.

We ought to be against the SMA plan out of principle, because those greedy bastards already have enough of a stranglehold without handing them all the other sports as well. On top of that, none of the idiots in charge seem to have grasped that just because they're all played on rectangles, doesn't m...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

There are no more buses from the 80s... They should not be on the road more than 25 years, making the oldest bus from 1995. All buses are now air-conditioned and 98% are wheelchair accessible. Correct. The last of the SL202's are the last of the non-accessible buses. They'll be retired by the end o...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

All we've seen under Liberals is cuts to bus services and proposals to cut bus stops. I actually recall SA Labor were doing so well increasing patronage that they had to lease buses from interstate to keep up with demand. Whilst interest rates are low the current government should replace those bus...

Re: Adelaide Oval news and events

As I mentioned previously, the initiative taken to get Adelaide Oval the first day/night test Match should have been followed through by the SA Govt & SMA to negotiate a deal with Cricket Australia so that Adelaide be given a permanent slot for the first weekend in school holidays in December, & gi...

The skyline in general is looking much broader and beefier than a few years ago You mean its looking much broader and beefier than 35 years ago. I've been waiting my whole life for these new building to come through. Nope actually I meant much broader and beefier than a few years ago. In the past <...

I'm not a fan of the exposed pipework in the ceiling, feels a little too industrial for the rest of the decor

I hope the design has good sound proofing in mind, given how close it is to the street circuit.

Unless of course he's the muscle behind the lobbying to kill off the event and have it bumped out to Tailem Bend

Another span has gone up, pretty sure it's the one next to the cop shop, but I had a bad angle from South Rd so it could also have been the Sturt Rd crossing

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Inbound trains were 2 cars, and people were being left behind at Mawson Lakes (granted, the bogans crowding around the door and not moving down the train weren't helping). This is a big problem in football season too, and requires an attitude change from passengers that comes about before I shout i...
