Re: #Complete: Mount Barker Park 'n' Ride

Could have gone for a design / colour scheme that blends in with the location. The postmodern stuff just looks out of place.

Good photos though -- this place will see MB continue to grow.

Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow

I don't like the idea of a tramline to the port. It doesn't make sense -- there is already a railway there and it would cost less to spruik it up than to build a tramway! Why not a branch line to West Lakes and the upgrading of all the stations?

[COM] Re: #Proposed : 'Northern Connector'

As I live in the "proposed" corridor of the Northern Connector and am likely to lose my home of 30 years to it I wonder if any thought has been put into what actually will be lost if this connector goes ahead? The so called vacant and low residential area of the western side of Pt Wakefield road al...

Re: Adelaide Transport Woes

Freeways should be built not for commuter traffic, but for freight and bypass traffic. And why build them through the metropolitan area? Can't we build a bypass from Murray Bridge to northern Adelaide, therefore deverting all the trucks from metro routes and getting them straight to the Port / Raily...

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network

Privatise healthcare and education and get the government into doing what it should: infrastructure and law and order. This is the worst and most out of touch idea I have read in a very long time. The people of Burnside may be able to afford private healthcare and education, but what about all thos...

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network

And who's going to pay for health and education? You're not seriously considering we follow the US down the user-pays path? Health and education are inherently good things but government delivers them badly compared to the market. Why not save money, avoid making bureaucrats rich, and deliver highe...

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network

Privatise healthcare and education and get the government into doing what it should: infrastructure and law and order. How long have you been thinking about this theory? Ten seconds? It's a good theory. State governments should do little more than infrastructure and law and order. Education voucher...

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network

Lol, that article basically said that intervention into the transport market by the U.S. government is what kills rail. Taxes, subsidies, federally-financed roads.

The main part. Look it up on the computers, place a request, and they'll leave it out for you in about half an hour. It's an easy process, and an excellent read!

Re: #Article: Transport hub plan east of city

An excellent idea considering our growth areas are going to be around Mount Barker and on the Flerieu Peninsula. This is where the bypass road / rail routes would stem from, to avoid Adelaide and connect to the roads and rails north of the city.
