This is a non-story. Design is just taking slightly longer than anticipated (which happens on most projects). Incredible how quick people are to come up with conspiracy theories based on nothing!

What a monstrosity. Which architect ended up agreeing to put their name to this? This is truly shameful - a poor reflection on both the architect and SCAP for allowing it to be built.

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel
CLT (cross laminated timber) is being used widely in commercial applications around the world. This is a step forward in achieving greater sustainability. Perhaps it is surprising to some people in Adelaide as it has been used less here than in other cities, but expect to see more of it. It isn't th...

No need to get upset - GHS is just trying out new material for his upcoming Fringe comedy show. Of course we all know that CBD building proposals and approvals accelerated considerably under the Weatherill government - Realm and Adelaidean are two fine examples!

I’ve seen you post the RTCC being lifted and there being a lot going on behind the scenes. Is there any sort of realistic time line for this or is it more so the question of how long is a piece of string. If/when we see the RTCC lifted would you expect to see an influx of 150+ proposals made? Timef...

I'm hoping this delay in starting this will mean the design will be revisited and this building will be bumped up in height to be Adelaide's tallest. I heard this will have an observation deck on the roof, and given the design and location of it, it seems it will have good design merit to be Adelai...

How come that "core" part in the middle is still sticking out at the top? I thought there would have been some extra floors to cover that up by now. Hi Plasmatron :) The reason the top levels are going so slowly is because the builder can't use their tower crane to construct it. This is t...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
Do the columns wed this site to the existing design or would it be possible for another design to be engineered to the same supports? I know it's extremely unlikely, but I do like to fantasise that by the time the carpark's done the tower will be redesigned into something more befitting the locatio...

I would guess at least $150m construction cost, unless the floorplates are tiny and the quality is extremely low. Would expect $3000-3500/sqm construction cost.

Mate, if you look at the main buildings going up in Adelaide (Realm, the Adelaidean, Wingfold tower, Sofitel Hotel) none of them are office buildings. If this building was to go ahead then surely they would need a commitment from a large company. BHP just moved into Franklin street and Santos built...

I've flown into London City Airport (Western approach) and can tell you it feels like you are within touching distance of the skyscrapers in Canary Wharf. If this is permissible within one of the bigger cities in the world; Maximum building heights in Adelaide's CBD should be revised upwards immine...

Office building, wont happen. If it was apartments or a hotel I would take this proposal seriously. GHS, have you considered offering your services to developers and builders around Adelaide? You seem to know a lot more than them. Of course there are all those times in the past where you turned out...
