Mods - this is becoming a little off topic and more about parklands overall, if wish to move to the pub, happy to continue conversation over there.

JAKJ, I'm sure there are many that agree with your comments, however, I'm not one of them. We all dont have to agree on these issues and robust debate should be encouraged. Its important that each side present sound, rational arguments to fully express why they feel a certain way without being pigeo...

This is the problem, entitled people right now that would sell their grandchild's soul if it gave them an extra buck now. If you don't get a fancy park now, future generations don't get a fancy park? Why is there an automatic assumption that by doing something now will ruin it for future generation...

Well, I'm going against the general consensus here, i like it. I think the proposal compliments the existing infrastructure and is a unique addition. As for the whole "you cant build on the parklands" thing, large swathes of parkland are barren, useless dustpans. I think we should activat...

Any reason considering the advantages over bitumen they don’t build more roads out of concrete then? Anyone know how does the cost compare? This was discussed before. Concrete roads are more expensive but have reduced maintainance costs, especially for roads that see a high amount of truck usage Co...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
It's amazing that after many years of handouts to GMH, Mitsubishi etc, even now this still occurs. "Oh pleease stay in SA, pretty pleease." It's clear alot of these large corporates view SA as a pissant state. Let them go I say, and let us embrace new industries. Every state gives handout...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Unfortunately, Australia is in the middle of nowhere (geographically speaking) and takes a decent flight to get to / from. The issue of available slots, flight connections and curfews at originating airports must also be considered when it comes to what could happen if Adelaide changes its own curfew.

Re: Port Adelaide | Developments & News
I would probably make a noise about it, but go anyway. How far is "near enough"? If CBD public servants can be moved without choice to Port Adelaide, what about Gawler? Murray Bridge? Mount Gambier? Leigh Creek? A few hundred full time state public servants plus their families could be ju...

Back to the drawing board for Le Cornu site as Makris withdraws $200m project Bension Siebert The developer that owns Adelaide's most infamous vacant plot - the old Le Cornu site in O'Connell Street - has abandoned plans to build a $200 million complex there. I fully support the idea of reintroducing public transport to Port Adelaide, however heavy rail will still have the same problem as the current situation. Stations are too close together and the speed of the service is poor.
