[COM] Re: APP: Rundle Place (Harris Scarfe) | 102m 21lvl Office/Re

Levels 2, 3 & 4 of Harris Scarfe are now closed.
Wow really? I used to work in the Layby Department there years ago on the second floor. That big roof space on Grenfell Street you see is the layby storage area. I used to be the boss of that. I'm gettin all sentimental about it...

That looks awesome! Good stuff.
I think the title AEC theatre is a bit misleading.
Thebarton Theatre doesn't make me think of an opera venue!

Jesus H Christ. Is The Bog Roll I Mean The Advertiser blatantly biased here or what? Good on you pistol for posting that as it saved me doing it. BTW: 1. The university is about 1.5km down the road so there is an immediate issue with young trainee doctors doing their rotations at the RAH and actuall...

Had a thought about that bottom row of panels that don't have any lights on them: there could be a trailing display along there showing things like artist credits.
Awesome idea.

[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 x 18 lvl - 58m towers

Whilst this is a bit retarded (would've turned heads in the 80s... it reminds me of some brand of hairspray using Mondrian as a marketing tool from back then somehow), at least it's something colourful down that end of town. I hope that if the other towers go ahead, they aren't all clones of this on...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Victoria Square Upgrade

That first one of yours is good mono - but with KWS partly raised over a partly lowered Wakefield - Grote St under KWS. This would get rid of the E - W street cutting VSQ and give grassed slopes eacxh side of KWS for outdoor theatre seating. All VERY interesting. A lot of kowtowing to cars there. A...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Victoria Square Upgrade

That didn't ring true to me - and a quick check on Wikipedia backs me up. According to the List of city squares by size, Victoria Square (58,000 m2) is at most the 32nd biggest public square, and it will probably move further down the list, as the list gets longer. Yep sorry, my bad! How embarrassi...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Victoria Square Upgrade

This better be awesome. I'm dubious, but time will tell. Thing is if they fuck this up now, it will remain that way for decades to come. Again. Probably would be better to spend the cash on the more urgent necessity of Rundle Mall. It doesn't take much to make a pedestrian mall look impressive. And ...

Are you guys sick of stark flat expanses of glass yet? We've been doing them since.. when.. Mies?
And surely that's not the ONLY alternative we can come up with?????

Re: #U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread

Did I mention I find Woods Bagot to be hilariously unimaginative, and hardly deserving of the term 'architect', especially when it comes to Adelaide? Couldn't agree more. They kinda represent what's wrong with Adelaide in their own way. And yet they can pull out a (cancelled) 1400 metre job for Dub...

But to get the balance, at least it's not 3 - 4 families per apartment.
Hmmm... give it time.

Yeah not bad this. The striped effect is a tad 80s but overall a good adition. It also helps a tiny bit with a sense of enclosure for Vic Square when seen from the northern end of that space.

Re: #U/C : Ent. Centre Upgrade | $50m | (2,500) | Hindmarsh

This is a pretty awesome upgrade. Congratulations to all involved on it I say. It at least provides a striking first impression rather than, as others have pointed out, the aircraft hangar aesthetic. I wonder how this will speak to the Channel Seven effort... That whole intersection could and should...
