I don't think you get it. It smacks of a fake to me.

It's hear, hear. Not here, here.
But, yes, hear, hear.

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m
I can't believe the councillors are complaining that the stadium needs to be surrounded by tall trees. They were consulted and knew full well from the start how big it was going to be and if they had concerns about it, they should have raised it in the beginning. They saw the models, the artists imp...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Great idea. Let's electrify less than half of the most patronised railway line in the state. Just another embarrassment. Agreed. It just seems so dumb to electrify so little of it. Electrify it all or none of it as electrifying part of it means Gawler trains can't use it anyway. Instead of electrif...

[COM] Re: PRO: Britannia Roundabout
True, but that's probably why there's no trees on the smaller roundabout.
Also, the double roundabout actually accomodates the Clipsal well, as it means the bigger one can stay open, thus, actually alleviating traffic flow and congestion through the area when the race is on.

They will cease to exist soon enough, and then we shan't have to worry about such pathetic trivial matters.

Re: The SA Politics Thread
Because Norm, you do have to admit $4.90 for a single adult trip ticket is absurdly expensive. It would still be absurdly expensive even if the State Government one year decided to say 'we will freeze the cost of PT ticket prices for three years'.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
I am confused over the budget figures for rail electrification: are they spending $150m to electrify the short 10km distance just Dry Creek in 3 years? and $160m to electrify the longer 30km distance to Noarlunga in just 6 months? no mention of anymore new trains between now and 2016? :? The cost a...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
Aidan - I know full well about what has gone into the study. I can tell you it is not a plan! It is nothing like the MATS Plan. It is just merely a lot of research about what kind of businesses and houses are in an given area, whether or not option A, B, C, D is suitable for that location, pros and ...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
That's not a plan! That's a study which Blind Freddy could have done. Oh we observed that there's a bit of industry here, and some houses down there, and that the traffic's a bit heavier here and whatnot. A plan is actually drawing up maps, and setting out a project; for example: 'From the Southern ...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
It would be interesting to see the plan between the southern end of the Superway and the northern end of the current proposed upgrade. ??? Is there a plan. This has been the problem with this whole saga. No continuous plan, just ad hoc sections, planned in isolation. At least we now have 2 addition...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
Surely the Mayor of Marion is not so stupid as to call on the State Government to fund the Oaklands overpass five days before the State Budget is handed down. If she wanted funding for the project she would have raised it six months ago, not now. The numbers havr already been crunched. Does she seri...

They look like the truck safety cameras, very similar to the ones seen on Port Wakefield Highway just north of the Salisbury Highway Interchange.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
It's an absolute necessity. I questioned whether the Seaford line would be able to accommodate all 22 electric EMUs, not to mention contingency planning to stable trains at Dry Creek in event of an incident on the Southern Lines.
That, and Gawler being the most well patronised line on the network.

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
Can someone confirm why the new South Rd plan.... the (river) Torrens to Torrens proposal doesn't go under Torrens Rd? What's the point of spending so much money to go under Port and Grange Rds to just have another bottle neck at Torrens Rd? If they went under at Torrens Rd it would be a clear run ...
