Re: ## General Public Transport thread

I use a 2 section ticket. It's not about "being cheap", but as Muzamo has stated, it makes it competitive against car trips. I live quite close to the city, so a full price fare is quite ridiculous for the distance travelled (I normally ride or walk, but will jump on the bus if it's pourin...

I don't know about you guys, but I really wish there was a store in Adelaide that sold both ugg boots and NFL jerseys.

Re: New Retail in the CBD

Sadly, I was walking past on Rundle St today just as liquidators were putting up a notice to say Mary Martin's had closed. This follows the closing of their Norwood store/cafe a month ago. They've been such a mainstay on Rundle St for a long time, so it's a terrible loss.

[COM] Re: U/C: Rundle Place Ben/Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 76

I'm pretty sure Apple is in, as they're clearly leaving space while putting the rest of the facade up. I don't think the issue was ever with the design, just the lack of cover.

Re: SA's Time Zone

Nathan, instead of removing DLS and everyone getting up an hour earlier during summer, why don't we keep DLS and you just get up an hour later? Considering the first suggestion above, the second suggestion makes so much sense I would love to read a reply. :) I understand that suggestion sinc...

Re: SA's Time Zone

While we're at it, we can lose daylight savings. NOOOOO OOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo! + 1 I have NEVER ever heard one good reason to scrap daylight saving. it is by far the best time of the year. You go home from work and you can still see the world. I feel for the poor people in Perth. It screws wit...

I absolutely agree with you Maximus - in fact I've bored many people over the years with my arguments for a UTC +9 timezone. While we're at it, we can lose daylight savings.

Re: Re-Branding Our State

They could do a lot worse than Cato. Whilst it was disappointing that we didn't, nor any of our fellow studios in Adelaide, get the nod, I'm pleased that it has at least gone to a design studio, and one that has a lot of experience in doing branding of this kind of scale. As mentioned above, my fear...

Re: #Transport Projects

I've never driven down there in peak hour, but even at about 2-3PM (eastbound), it's usually enough of a line that I feel it's un-justifiable. There are usually only about 2-4 buses along the whole length, and generally, they're pulled over to pick up/drop off. I notice a lot of people drive throug...

-1 for the coins. They may have worked with the old paving (just), but they'll just look completely tacky and out of place with the new cleaner paving and sharper street furniture.

Has there been any news on the former Borders store? I noticed today that the For Lease signs have disappeared, and there seemed to be some work going on inside.

Re: Vision - Britannia Roundabout

Here's a possible solution of the Brittannia Roundabout, which saves existing trees and will barely (if at all) alter the Clipsal Track. Apologies for quality, I did not have Photoshop installed at the time. And additionally to caption box, the right roundabout would probably be 2 lanes turning rig...

It does, but in that nice mid-century modern kind of way. As long as they don't cheap out on the quality of the cladding, I think it will look quite nice.
