[COM] Re: APP: 115 King William Street | 87m | 25lvls | Office

Seems bizarre that for only 12m frontage why go for an 87m building...surely better sites avail. At the very least the low rise buildings next door should have b...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
Counted only about 28 properties remain to be demolished with 8 fenced off/being demolished. It will be interesting to see which ones are holding out for more $$$. I know the funeral parlour got a land swap (plus $) and is about to start building new on Port Rd cnr Cator St and will move out when th...

I counted there are only 36 properties left to be demolished with approx 12 already fenced/about to be demolished.
BTW ... Can anyone confirm if the stone/paver centre near the River Torrens bridge is staying or going?

Yes that outstanding curved design is what the owner wanted to build but ACC wouldn't approve ..... below it is the hideous brown render that the ACC wanted it too look like [and approved it]....& the owner then sold the site in disgust!

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
I still can't believe that Villis was to be the original tenant but the ACC ended up in dispute with them on the basis they wanted an alcohol license with 24/7 trading hours....maybe with the change of times/legislation they could be begged to come back?

I found this surprising....I read that behind only Parliament house in Canberra, this is the most expensive single building project ever undertaken in Australia.

I actually doubt even if these bars were open on a Sunday afternoon/night [in winter] they would be enough demand to pay the double time wages and actually make it worth while for the owners to open. But its a bit like the chicken and the egg ..ie what needs to happen first - venues open or the dema...

There are plans for a big OTR at Tailem Bend as part of the massive $40m re-development of the motorsport park they bought [former Mitsubishi test track]. On Dukes and Mallee highways, close to the Princes Highway.

If I was a resident of a new apartment development a gym plus an indoor heated pool, spa, steam room etc would be most welcome and maybe classes could also be run (Pilates, yoga etc) for the public in a separate section. Ideally the whole suburb needs an Indoor sports centre esp in winter allowing f...
