Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Why make use of your updatable destination screen when you can stick a bit of corflute in the window... Odd. While we're at it, anyone know what's up with calling services to the RAH, 'Royal Hospital Adelaide' and not Royal Adelaide Hospital? Probably putting the more specific and important informa...

Is it just me or has this building seemingly been on hold for 3 to 4 months now. I assume they've been doing interior work, but the outside has hardly changed. I'd have thought all or almost all of the windows and balconies would be installed by now

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel
Thank goodness there are building projects in Adelaide going on we can focus on instead of how much we all seem to piss each other off. I've seen a lot of cases on this forum, a lot more than others, where someone gets personally offended because someone likes a building they don't or someone has a ...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel
I don't know what the latest is with this development, but I'm still against it b/c it'll be covering the architecturally appealing eastern stand. Yes Adelaide Oval isn't the same as the Eiffel Tower or St Pauls, but you've got to start somewhere and have pride in what we do have. Pity that the the ...

Do the floors look really thin to anyone else? I'm not claiming they've been built incorrectly or they're not thick enough as the people who designed and are building this know far more about construction than I do. Just an observation.

I can’t spot much if anything different in the podium between the renders on page 2 and those new ones above. But geez the two buildings are going to be mighty close to each other. Was this site earmarked for a high rise development before Adelaidian started? I also don’t see how this monstrosity o...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
EVERYTHING on the northern side of North Terrace is in the Park Lands. I have a copy of Light's original plan and back then he didn't factor in the Railways, Museum, Library, University, Art Gallery etc. He drew a spot for Government House, a hospital in the east park lands, army barracks, storage ...

So yeah, the next time someone wants to call me a NIMBY for believing that the loss of heritage and character buildings should be limited where possible, you can now perhaps understand where I am coming from with this... These heritage cottages, bungalows, villas etc abound in the immediate suburba...

Doesn’t look great from that angle. Pretty much only looks decent on Franklin street and even then it’s only the podium. Just my opinion. On the other hand, a bloody welcome change from the sea of glass boxes. Each to their own. I'm not one for modern architecture overall, but this building does en...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
That is the stupidest proposal I've ever heard of. Running a tram along Victoria Drive is literally a tram to nowhere. Adelaide University and Botanic Gardens are already serviced by the new route to the East End. :wallbash: Especially the part where the tram has to change direction. That makes no ...

Not sure how this has already been submitted for consideration by the DAC without going to vote by SACA members? (as a SACA member, this point alone pisses me off). To me, this proposal compromises the design of the Eastern Stand and the stadium as a whole. It's an unnecessary addition that only fu...
