Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
What is with Adelaide politicians from the 90s and 00s somehow slipping into power without notice... Vickie Chapman, Lomax-Smith, many more!

No offence to Burnside Village but Pasadena Foodland is a lot more fancy and nicer. Bought some lovely foccacia bread there last night.

[CAN] Re: 207 Pulteney Street | 180m | 55 Levels | Mixed Use
Drove past and saw some men in hard hats and fluorescent vests inspecting the site with what looked like paper scrolls in their hands. There is movement! I think I saw them as well! Wow so exciting. I wonder if they were testing the ground to make sure it can handle 100 levels instead of 55 levels!...

Still no sign of demolition Pretty slack. 6 months just to start demolition is pathetic. Did you set a reminder for this thread? [e...

The perennial question, should this be UC rather than SWP? I know excavating the basement is Site Works, but there are four ground level columns at the Southern end which have been poured. You can see one of these in EBG's photo from this morning Good pick up, just changed it to U/C :) I was on sit...

I can't believe the City Council sold off this land for this :wallbash: 211-217 PIRIE ST ADELAIDE SA 5000 UNDER ASSESSMENT Description Construction of a 6 level building comprising data centre and ancillary office. City beach brought much more value to the land than this. In terms of social/cultura...

Re: CBD Policing & Behaviour
The west half of North Terrace is by far the most dangerous place in the CBD. Whitmore Square and Hindley St get all the media attention but honestly I have never had issues in those areas but NT seems to be a constant source of anti social behavior. Not sure what can be done but I just avoid the a...

Re: International performers Bypassing adelaide
Luke Combs sold out in less than a day, there is demand for international acts here, I don't understand why more don't come. We have a metropolitan population that is 2/3 that of Perth, 1/2 that of Brisbane, and a much smaller fraction that of Melbourne and Sydney. We're far enough away from the ne...

My friends... today is a good day. It only takes one development to act as a catalyst for encouraging further developments. Our sister city in Austin, Texas, is proving to be a great example of this. Only as recently as 2004, their tallest building was only 122m tall. Then they went through a skyscraper building phase through the mi...

Sorry, this is a fucking outrage. Walker Corp has already achieved a sweetheart deal to develop public land with minimal contribution to the public benefit. We have been swindled. And now the new government is giving them cover via the red herring of better parliamentary connection? A taller buildi...

I think this one looks pretty nice, especially form that render looking from the north. If this one does get off the ground, then there's goes my argument for Adelaide needing to get our first true commercial skyscraper off the ground. Not that this is a skyscraper of course, but with 61,000sqm of ...
