Quite liked it until I realised it was a Samaras development. Will likely be dumbed down a handful of times before and during construction.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
I agree with everything said regarding the character these buildings bring to the surrounding laneways, without heritage listing or council/government intervention they will inevitably go with whatever is developed on this site. Developers rarely see it worth retaining heritage in Adelaide because t...

[PRO] Re: Crows HQ at Thebarton Oval
What I want to know is why Mali and his government are handing more $$ to AFC, how the hell is this a 'community' investment? Improvements to Thebarton Oval and Kings Reserve that ultimately benefit the AFC. IF this were an Arts organisation/institution asking for a little financial kicker to get a ...

Piling here will be starting soon-ish. Not sure on exact timelines but expect this to ramp up in the near future. By “soon-ish” I assume you mean January? Would probably be mid January as there's probably going to be a obligatory Christmas & New Years shut down. It's funny the thinking behind t...

Probably Samaras waking up to the reality that there isn’t the demand for the office space he’s rolling out. His Wakefield Street building still only have two floors occupied (Comm Bank).

Re: Thebarton Brewery Site Redevelopment
They need to consider the link between this site and the Torrens, as it is, the Christmas Lights display could easily be relocated to a section of the Torrens within the Bonython Park precinct, this might actually make the display more family friendly.

Any word on who has the naming rights for this building? The brackets are there but nothing has gone up yet.

Yeah Nah this isn’t it. Never have we ever had two serious propisals of this nature before. Despite being a global recession and coming out of a pandemic, we still have two 120+m developments and the FM. Adelaide was never going to be resistant to a global recession. Yes it was. We were told throug...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Quite a few changes to Rundle Mall/Street of late... As mentioned above, Charlesworth have rather quietly closed their store at No. 1 Rundle Mall, which seems strange when you consider the public outcry when Darrell Lee upped and left and the relief of Charlesworth moved in. Priceline have moved fro...

And yet, the user account that had been feeding this thread with inside information was defensive at anyone questioning the legitimacy of this proposal and whether it could or would be going ahead.

[PRO] Re: New Adelaide Aquatic Centre | $135M
Had a thought whist at my boy's swimming lessons today — what if they kept the roof? The current aquatic centre is unique in that because of the way it was built, the roof is actually completely seperate from the rest of the facility. They could remove all the pools, the ancillary buildings, stands...

JB HiFi has moved to the old Best & Less location. Their old store has been gutted and is being expanded into the carpark. A major international brand will be opening in the space in early-mid 2024. It'll be their second Adelaide store. Could be Zara? I'd say it's Uniqlo... Considering how long...

Re: News & Developments: Prospect
Both major parties have committed to building a Prospect High School to cater for the on-going demand that's putting pressure on the Adelaide Botanic HS and Adelaide High School, this is the ideal location for it, both in size, road and public transport access. It seems strange that both parties hav...
