[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Personally i think a contemporary museum dedicated to Adelaide / South Australian history would be best - and this could also combine the aboriginal history too along with the architecture museum which is currently crammed into a tiny room at the uni. Something with a more broader appeal to more pe...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

“Works to remove the air bridge connecting Adelaide Casino to Adelaide Railway Station…”

Bit of a rich description. The air bridge links the Casino to the Intercontinental, it doesn’t even connect to the station part of ARS (does it?)

The present regime has allowed the track to deteriorate to the point of needing speed restrictions, pretty much the same as would happen with heavy rail.
The “present regime” has only been in office for 16 months…

Looking back at Rann and Weatherill would be more appropriate.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The Andrews Government cops a lot of flak, most of it driven by the staunch Liberal Party supporters at News Corp, but their current projects and investments will set the state up well in the future. Projects such as the Metro Tunnel, Suburban Rail Loop, Regional Rail Revival and Level Crossing Rem...

Consultation is open for a proposed Wakefield Street upgrade between Vic Square and Hutt Street to be completed 2024/25. In general, the proposed treatment is similar to that completed for Grote Street between Morphett and West Terrace — planted medians with spotted gums and better lighting/pavemen...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Trialling a free “Port Connector” between Port Adelaide and Semaphore Beach in the vein of the City Connector bus would be a great idea.

Could even be timed to sync up with the trains at Port Dock when/if the station ever opens?

The roof leak is getting pretty bad
Leak? What leak?

Apparently last night they intentionally flooded certain areas to locate where the water was coming in. By the looks of that, the answer is everywhere!

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Hindley Street East solution: Make it permanent one-way travelling westbound, with full closure to all vehicles during late hours. Widen the footpaths so there’s only one through lane and daytime parking on both sides The street is bumper-to-bumper during the night anyway, so less risk of clubbers g...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

Reposting a Port to Semaphore tram concept from several years ago that I resurrected last year. Since the lines would be completely separated from the main network, could be a great chance to explore alternative power options with short sections of battery operation or ground-supplied power. A tram ...

Apologies if this has already been asked but will this development have a basement? If I’m not mistaken, I believe there will be one as developer wants the supermarket there however another party / stakeholder wants it on ground level, still TBC. You don’t necessarily need to tea...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The platform areas are mainly functional space so I don't feel need to have tens of millions spent on them just for aesthetics. Public spaces are allowed to be both functional AND aesthetic. I doubt it would cost tens of millions of dollars to find a way to make the platforms brighter and more welc...
