More than happy to see this one go ahead based on what it will bring to the area and the skyline. Probably unreasonable of me to expect to personally love the design of every proposal out there. Looking forward to it taking shape.

I'm going to put it out there and I know I'm in the minority here. I still don't think I really like it. The redesigned podium looks great but, whilst I like the glass, the tower element just looks like a fairly uninspiring flat-sided and relatively featureless box to me - a bit like something that ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Soon, we'll be seeing something similar to this photo from 1955! https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/523/31661682081_617f52e51d_o.jpg Just out of interest, what happened to all of the trees on North Terrace? I know we have plane trees now but the ones in the above photo look much older. Were they all cut...

Overpass sections coming on nicely - the shared pathway cantilever section has been added to the side now.

No, on that small triangle of land where the two lines meet:rev wrote:You're not talking about that area that was excavated on the side park tce near the train crossing?
Nothing exciting and all filled in now apart from two small holes next to an electrical/signalling box.

[COM] Re: Torrens Junction Underpass
I suspect that would be geotechnical investigations going on in order to provide input for detailed design. Trench looked very long though, too long for a trial pit imo. It could well be but I also I wonder whether it's something to do with services or signalling? Either way it's good to see someth...

[COM] Re: Torrens Junction Underpass
Looks like some sort of works were being undertaken this morning where the OH line branches off from the other lines - nothing too major, just an excavator and a few people milling around. Also, out of the corner of my eye I saw Channel 7 news mention something about the Torrens Junction project but...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Not surprisingly the card carrying Liberal members have hit the news sites bagging the upgrade as a tram to nowhere once again. You'd have thought that being proven wrong repeatedly about the previous expansions they'd just shut up and go away now. But now they've got to inDaily. I used to enjoy th...

Got a few cheeky photos of the model in the sales office. A couple were taken through a fairly dirty window so apologies for the quality. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161215/75faf7f2864a3af58f935f5896a24ff3.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161215/f4c27fa83dbab791b4436c4b9d197e9a.jpg http:/...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
However, does that mean the track and Festercentre stop are just constructed to ensure that extension to North Adel and beyond doesn't foul Nth Terrace, and they won't be used for regular services till the extension proper occurs (except maybe special services thru the Festival, or short workings i...

Re: Negativity in Adelaide
Bloody hell - when did the inDaily comments section become just as depressing as the Advertiser one? Just an hour or so after the tram story was published... This doesn't seem like a very good idea... all this is going to do is restrict traffic along North Terrace. I very much doubt it's going to ta...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
It's good news, but I would have thought Adelaide Oval would be the logical temporary terminus of the Prospect tram. I wonder how much more it would have cost to go that extra distance (one stop)? I wonder whether this might happen anyway - in the same way as the T2T project has gradually grown in ...
