[COM] Re: 114 Waymouth Street | 78m | 26lvl | U2 Apartments
Many sites around the city have been pretty quiet this week. With the combination of hot weather and also possible storms rolling through I am not too surprised. Sometimes there are also scheduled RDOs. With the article in the paper there is obviously some sort of disagreement. Probably over charges...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway Revitalisation Projects
Looks great. I am sure there is a good reason but I can't understand why they need to allow the exit from the Peppers parking area to exit back onto Waymouth St. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to reverse the Peppers parking area, enter from the North and exit to the South? Unless they are allo...

Ok, as an exercise is this even remotely possible give then constraints of the location? The previous proposed development of a residential development wasn't great, with some very small appartments. This time it looks commercial rather than residential. The site is what only 8-9m wide on the King W...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway Revitalisation Projects
The Adelaide CBD on a whole needs better footpaths and lots of greenery. Absolutely agree on the greenery part. The council in general do a good part I think with plantings etc but really lack in the trees for shade idea along some of our major roads. While not a problem at this time of year during...

I thought the council had done this already?
Maybe need to do on the other side of the road as well to even things up and make it a grand entranceway ?

[COM] Re: U2 on Waymouth - 114 Waymouth Street | 78m | 26lvl
Datong now have a corporately looking sign next to the front door of the adjacent red brick building so it looks like they have leased some space.
Not sure if they are relocating from the Flinders Street/Pulteney Street building as well as this being for a new site office for the U2 development.

The 2 level building wedged in between is an old building that was refurbished (6?) years ago for an accountancy group. Word around is they are maybe looking to relocate, which would leave this building as a possible site for redevelopment.

In a sign that this one is maybe progressing there is a drilling rig out the back of the site today.
It's taking samples so they can work out the depth of piling required.

Walked past today and the basement level foundations are largely complete. I could not see any crane base or even where one would go. It didn't look like it would be in the centre of the site. Maybe they will use mobile cranes? I hope not. From when I walked past last week, no piling had commenced ...

From the plans there was three levels of underground carpark, so going to be a lot of soil removed. Not sure why they have levelled the block - maybe some part of the process to determine final levels for installing parameter piling? Entrance to carpark will be from the old Bath Lane entrance. Loadi...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Most days of the week Coles on Grote Street is open at midnight. Not quite sure why they have to close from 9pm to midnight, might be economics or might be regulation. If it is regulation then I agree this should be changed to allow them to trade 24hrs if they want to.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
Thanks. No wonder I couldn't find anything. I didn't look back far enough. Odd that they decided to keep any part of the existing building. Surely it must add to the cost of development? Interestingly the 2-3 level carpark behind this building also has a few "townhouses" built above it. No...

Does anyone know what is happening with 173 Gilles Street? I was walking down Gilles Street yesterday when I noticed that the entire back of this single level building had been cleared. Building is on the corner of Gilles & Cromwell Street near Pulteney Street corner. I can't remember seeing any...
