Those window frames are aluminium - they will outlast mankind.
I am not a fan of the random "fins" though. They serve no purpose and look stupid. But at least its an improvement over that horrid orange whatever that was plastered all over the building previously.

I've always been told that the new station would be an island platform with the metro trains on the non-museum side and the NRM trains on the other but that plan only shows one track into the platform....

Oh geez that new facade of the Myer centre looks shockingly boring. Why is everyone so obsessed with grey these days? Back in the 1950's through to the 70's, colour was everywhere. Now, its all grey, black and white. Very depressing.

You would think they would install some shade sails or protection up on that top level. That would be like an oven in summer

Does anyone know if the GPO bells will ever chime again? I can understand if they stop them at night but what about during the day? I can't remember the last time I heard either of the GPO or Town Hall bells chime and I work on Waymouth St just behind the GPO so surely I would hear either of them go...

[U/C] Re: WEST (Football Park) | Developments & News
Definitely no space there to host football games now with the stands and car parking long gone. I am pretty sure the land next to the Mosaic is just used as a car park at the moment so would be good to see something built there. But then again, that poses the issue of that whole precinct not having ...

If i was a betting man, i would bet that it will just be paved over and made into more parking.

What is actually happening to No 1 KWS? I really hated the previous cladding and those hideous orange awning things. Should have left it original in my eyes - the marble cladding was gorgeous.

Not sure if its been mentioned anywhere but I noticed last week that the pedestrian crossing across the tracks behind North Adelaide Golf Course is still fenced off. This crossing was upgraded as part of the Gawler line works but still sits there unused. Anyone know why?

I still think the art deco former car display building should be retained and done up. Its actually a really nice building and there are hardly any art-deco buildings left in Adelaide. A new building could easily be built behind it or even hanging over the top of it a bit too. Just my 2 cents

Re: Thebarton Brewery Site Redevelopment
A tram depot could easily be built at ground level and apartments built over the top. I am sure its been done elsewhere in thew world Without taking the thread too far off topic, is there a reason the Glengowrie depot can't be expanded? There's a fairly large amount of vacant land between the depot...

I was really looking forward to this getting up too. The renders looked amazing and really complimented the corner site with some curves. I was so excited we were finally getting a curved building... but alas

Just heard from a friend that the building firm linked to Fletchers Slip has gone under. Can anyone shed any further light on this and what it means for The Port?

Don't they own The Globe Hotel? Not a good sign that nothing has happened there for years and the same people buy yet another run down building
