Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
This was a very special charter to uplift some precious cargo to take back to Azerbijan. It was only mean to be here for 3hrs but due to some technical issues it stayed for 12hrs. It was the 1st Azerbaijan registered aircraft to visit Adelaide, as well as the visit of Silkways West Airlines to Aust...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Even Canberra's airport which was completed within a similar time-frame to our airport car-park have adopted the pick-up/drop-off arrangement we once had. Not exactly correct... The ground-level road running past the terminal at Canberra Airport is for taxis and commercial vehicles only. You're not...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Do the regulations specify co-location of drop-off and pick-up? This is my only beef. A simple ramp up to the first level for drop-offs, and back down to ground level would have been very simple. It smacks of pure cost cutting to me, and idiocy especially when there is a structure already in place ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Agree with this - it's comparable to many airports I've used in terms of capacity vs demand. Plus, I think in today's world of heightened security the days where anyone can drive a private car up to the doors of an international airport terminal are well and truly numbered. Look what happened at Gl...

Why the controversy? I think because it's less than 48 hours before the Showdown, which is on Sunday arvo. Crows and Power have been restricted in their training at AO this week and are concerned about the impact to the playing surface (both aesthetic and functional). See here: http://www.news.com....

Re: Hypothetical situation
3) - My third building would REALLY piss the NIMBYs off. I would look into building a new rectangular sporting arena somewhere in the city itself, that would house not only an A-League club, but would allow Adelaide to make a serious push towards a permanent rugby team. The stadium would have to be...

Now, now... no need for cussing. I was just offering an answer to Mono's question. Didn't say that I agreed with the criticism of your post, just suggesting an explanation.[Shuz] wrote:Oh for fucks sake

[COM] Re: Rundle Mall Redevelopment | $30m
Why are you guys dissing Shuz here? Because if we all had a dollar for every time someone compared something in Adelaide to Federation Square, we'd have enough to money to dig the bloody thing up and relocate it from Melbourne! Personally, I'm a bit sick and tired of the seemingly endless compariso...

Though, I do like the open fence concept for government house, but does that pose a security issue with the site? According to Tim Horton, "You can walk up to Government House anywhere else in Australia": http://indaily.com.au/news/2015/04/24/self-harming-adelaide-needs-design-interventio...

No mention in that article about the fairy penguins (of which there are supposedly fewer than 50 remaining), but apparently this could be good news for them. The proposal will also cover the penguin centre, which has been unleased since January and is currently being kept open by the state governmen...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
No doubt others have noticed this, but I don't think anyone has posted it... If this plan goes ahead, it will forever alter the layout of the F1 circuit. Not that I think F1 will ever return to Adelaide (as much as I would love it to), but there has been some chatter recently that the Clipsal should...

It's very much looking like Adelaide Oval's World Cup fixture is even better (i.e. more significant) than anticipated. While the top three teams in both pools are probably already decided, it's highly likely that Adelaide's two remaining pool games (England v Bangladesh and Pakistan v Ireland) will ...

I am flattered that you have such a high opinion of myself that you would remember something I said, 2 years ago, but regardless of the spin that the local media have placed on the game, I still stand on what I said. I have a long memory (although it took me quite a while to find the post!), but re...
