Is there any reason apart from cost that they aren't eliminating the level crossing all together? Isn't that a long term goal anyway?

Not sure that alcohol is an answer to making a place more "vibrant". From experience [that is, from what I've seen] it causes a lot of pain. I guess it's up to individual responsibility. Let's hope these small bars, etc., will be more responsible than many places that I've seen over the y...

I suspect the renders are less flattering then would be the reality. I've seen plenty worse. It's a good spot for a hotel, though you'd have to think it'd be the budget type.

That's a pedestrian-heavy commercial area, and one that I used to go to often. The change to 50 should have happened a long time ago.

It's on the corner of Hindley and Peel streets. IIRC, the Ginos Group, which led the renewal of Leigh Street, has bought up most of Peel Street and is embarking on a similar revival.

I'm surprised they're not relocating their BWS from down the road into this development.

This end of Flinders seems to attract very nice developments. Looking forward to this rising above the east.
