Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Emirates only has an inbound load factor to Adelaide of about 61 percent, so if Qantas operates a code share to CHC then the Adelaide-Dubai flights pax will go up so hopefully we may get an a380 or multiple daily services :) I highly doubt we would get an A380. Only because the aerobridge situation...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Well, the inevitable has happened. EK440 has taken off in Dubai more than an hour late and will arrive in Adelaide at around 10:15pm. Departing flight EK441 has been rescheduled until 6:35am tomorrow. At least the second time that's happened now. Still, only twice in approx 4 months isn't too bad. ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

The flight is ops by a B777-200. ER, LR or just 200? Not really sure. The airline has both B777-200's and -200ER's Reb L, think they will be the next airline that will start Adelaide services. They have eyeing Adelaide and Cairns off for the past few years. They are currently trialing Cairns via Br...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I was quite shocked to hear this today. With Singapore Airlines changing their schedules last week to a 1040 departure, this gave me an idea as to what QF81/82 timings would be like when the new schedules would be announced. In some ways it was bound to happen eventually, it was really a wasted flig...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Has anyone heard any more about the proposed Qantas ADL-AKL flights? Nothing more has been said about it. Maybe once the alliance is well and truly underway then we may see it late this year or next year. It seems logical , but weather it can be sustained. It may hurt Air New Zealand which at the m...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Evening all, It seems Singapore Airlines are getting 1st with their change of schedules, before Qantas change the timing of their Singapore flight from Adelaide. From April 1st... SQ279 will arrive at 0815. SQ278 will depart at 1040 (In previous years this flight used to leave at 1140, they have bro...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Can I ask who these Antarctic flights would be for? Is it toursits, engineers who will be working on the continent, or just a mix of both? Either way, it's good to see something like this coming from Adelaide Airport :) It is for an Antartic scenic flight. It is for tourists, the aircraft fly's ove...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I understand there are (tentative?) plans to increase the size/capacity of the international departures arrangement, but I couldn't tell you a timeframe. It certainly is bit small at the moment. Also, confirmation today of Singapore moving to 12 flights per week, up from the current 10. SIA To Make...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I was on the flight coming in from Dubai, it was late because there was a sick passenger in Dubai who had to disembark the plane before it took off. It left 30 minutes late. Not surprised to see it leave that late. Another problem they have is the immigration process for departing travellers. They ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Looks like they've done it again. Heard it around 23:10 and noticed it banking to the northwest probably around Gilberton or thereabouts (I'm at Norwood). Nice to see something that big at night. Cheers Well it did arrive late at 2110 which is the latest of all flights so far. As long its clearance...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

It was an Atlas Air B747-400F operating on behalf of Qantas Freight. It arrived from Sydney at 1255 and departed to Singapore at 1505. It then departs to Kazakhstan. There will be another flight in 2 weeks time.
