[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre, Casino & Riverbank Developme
The biggest problem that the entire riverbank precinct faces is that it is completely disjointed with no proper levelling of all terraces. Every facility along the southern bank is completely segregated from one and other and there is a major lack in flow along the precinct. The scariest part is tha...

Re: AdelaideNow Adelaide bashing.
The obvious solution is a million free car parks. Which is also the most poorly thought out solution since it conflicts with the ACC's own works to narrow and widen the footpaths on existing streets and the State Government's objective to get more butts on public transport. A proper solution needs ...

Historic shopfront restoration thread
Following the article on AdelaideNow driven by our favourite Cr Sandy Wilkinson, I decided to open a thread regarding the historic shopfronts of our CBD which are actually still intact but just covered up behind iron and brick. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/testing/story-e6frea6u-1226073023651 I am ...

[COM] Re: SWP Rundle Pl:Bendigo-Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 72
Well if people would reread my post again, you would notice that I carefully mentioned the regretable loss of both the Sanity and the Roger David facades rather than the Harris Scarfe facade itself. Not to say that the Sanity and Dusk buildings have any real architectural merit but I would rather th...

[COM] Re: SWP Rundle Pl:Bendigo-Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 72
I am disgusted that the developer received approval for the demolishion of the Rundle Mall facades. I cannot believe that more people on this forum have not spoken out about this shocking injustice that is being done in the heart of our city. To say that the building replacing this historical fronta...

More concerning is that the chopping of 2 floors could indicate that this design is not what will be used for this proposal.

Re: New Retail in the CBD
Oh its a supermaket for god sake!! Who cares?!
Lets get back to the things that matter - fashion retail...has anyone seen the Alannah Hill store? It looks FANTASTIC and especially at night, looks stunning. 10/10 for that redevelopment.

Rumour is Alannah Hill will be opening up next week or the week after that for sure. Has anyone seen what they have done to the outside of the old Amarin Thai building? It looks superb, especially at night.

Re: Victoria Square: Not a place for congregating.
So we have established that there are a lot of office workers around Vic Sq. Can you imagine the square at lunch times if they were to incorporate some cafes and restaurants? As a city worker I know that I would definetly love to dine alfresco on the square on a beautiful sunny Adelaide day. With th...
