[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

There is also supposed to be a duplication of South Road from Seaford to Sellicks Beach with construction to start in 2019. While obviously not on the scale of the rest of the North south Corridor works, it's still a significant project with $305M allocated for stage one (Seaford to Aldinga Beach Ro...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Does the "2km rule" still hold true for electrified heavy rail? I understand particularly with the diesels and their slower acceleration that this is a reasonable minimum distance between stations for operation efficiency. However, the electric trains can accelerated faster. How much, if a...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

i know this is looking further ahead but what do u guys think will happen at the cross road south road intersection where u have to factor in the railway line? I drive through there almost daily and everytime I go onto the overpass I try to work out how it will work there. The plan is to duplicate ...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass

The fly through shows the station essentially in it's current location. I would have thought it better to center it beneath the road bridges? This would provide built in Shelter from the elements as well as easier & quicker access to both sides of the road which would also help to improve access...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network

While true, the fact is that we voted for them. There was a clear choice. The objections of those with technical knowhow were posted here and on many many other forums. We made our choice, and now we will just have to cough up. Just like we are coughing up for Sydney Airport that's costing travelle...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network

I would suggest, the main beneficiaries of the NBN are regional and rural areas that simply didn't have the speeds. Also you can't talk for tomorrow as you simply do not know what tomorrow needs Just for the record, I'm not against he NBN, I'm just sick of the hyperbole that comes out of peoples mo...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport

From memory, the credit is loaded the next time you validate, the validator will actually show that happening, I think with an additional light and possibly a message on the screen. You have 3 months I think to validate and load the credit to the metro card, once it's on the metro card, I don't thin...

Chilly, I still I have my doubts they'll make that 2nd week of July opening, happy to be proven wrong, as the sooner they can get it open the better.

But really, from what I can see of the progress, I don't think it'll happen.

[COM] Re: U/C: Britannia Roundabout

I really only utilise one of the roundabouts and while there may have been an improvement through a reduction in accident numbers, I have seen a lot of close calls. I also think that the night time peak traffic on Fullarton road heading south have gotten a raw deal. There are now often very long que...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

Does anyone know if or when 4007 is arriving? There was a flurry of deliveries around election time - are deliveries still continuing? 4007T has already been delivered last weekend, I'd heard on other forums that 4007A or B was on it's way, but don't know if it's actually be delivered yet. I was go...

That is because the map data comes from Open Street Map, essentially a Wikipedia-style map anyone can edit. I wouldn't pay too close attention to this as apparently the route still has not been decided yet. Are you sure about that Norman? There was a short article in a recent messenger indicating t...

All Part of the "Intelligent Traffic System" they are putting in, apparently it will be able to do/monitor all sorts of things. Combined with camera's along the route and the turning on of Number plate recognition at some point, it will be able to ping you for speeding and automatically is...
