Not really sure the plastic tents and posters add to the symmetry and architectural aesthetics of the Festival theatre? The rest looks good it's going to look spectacular when all finished, lights on and water features flowing!

[COM] COM: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

Um, you realise Tim Williams is New Limited's South Australian journalist for The City/Advertiser/AdelaideNow? That's just the Herald Sun re-publishing an Adelaide written piece about a venue that has drawn national attention. There's no Melbourne bashing going on here. That's right it's not "...

Car Insurance Recommendation

Before going through my credit union for insurance I did use Allianz, in conjunction with CW Robinson crash in Halfax street, I hit a Kangaroo, they were fantastic, Robinsons found more internal damage after they started the work and they organised another insurance inspection, all was fixed includi...

Cheers, Honey of the city, it's drawing some interstate friends, sure we saw Daryl Braithwaite ( for those old enough to remember the rock legend) on he's way to the crows/gold coast game on the weekend.

Re: Car Insurance Recommendation

From my experience they all tend to offer a good deal to get your business in the first year and creep up fees over the next couple. I use to swap back and forward from RAA to SGIC every three years, but now appear to get a better deal via my credit union by having all my insurances through them.

The Melbourne Herald Sun reported in March that the Pennington gardens would not be be completed till after the footy season in September. (It must have been a very slow news day in Melbourne) http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/03/zura7u6y.jpg Nothing like a bit of friendly Adelaide bashing on a quiet ...

Anyone know the latest on the restoration of the Pennington Gardens at the front of the Oval? It's currently a fenced off overgrown bog, and an embarrassing forefront to the magnificent and highly praised Oval complex. To get so far and then lose interest at the last hurdle is very disappointing, a...

News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Hi monotonehell, not thinking of this method for the main CBD loop but rather to consolidate all the lines on the western side of the parklands and perhaps the Torrens river bank. All that waste land next to Bunning's, the the basket ball stadium. Obviously before containers, this area was a hub for...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Patrick I don't think I am alone with the dream of an underground rail loop and Vic Square would be an obvious spot for a station. As far as funding we are among the the wealthiest nations on earth, I read recently that we are all funding multi millionaires $20bn a year in super tax dodges, money s...

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

Thanks Wayno :-) good to see the retention of the older building at the front of the block, I guess there is a need for consulting rooms being so close to the Wakefield Hospital.

I think the point is that a new ministry was created for him. Which is a cost the public should be aware of. Yes Waewick it's certainly not going unnoticed if the Advertiser has anything to do with it, they must have devoted a page a day to it over the last week and anyway, just in the public inter...

Wondering what's happening behind 283? Wakefield Street, (opposite the Wakefield hospital), they have kept the heritage building but been demolishing a single story office building at the rear over the last couple of weeks and look set to start building something, http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/01/...

I will have to stop reading the papers in Cibo, I see the Advertiser still devoting pages to the MHS saga, it appears that to get a liberal to hold a ministry it costs us poor taxpayers $2m more a year than if a Labor guy did it? So what are they actually arguing here? Liberals cost more? Are Labor ...
