Re: Government Inquiry Into a Barossa Passenger Service
People really shouldn't be encouraged to commute such long distances, should they? Exactly - the post you quoted shows one reason why no extension should be built. it's one thing to induce people to live near an existing service (e.g. anywhere along the Gawler Line) but not to somewhere devoid of a...

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
What I do know is though is that it will be signed as M20, as a continuation of the Sturt Highway. Norman, can you please ask your source what Main North Road will be signed as is route 20 is going via the Northern Expressway? I would not be surprised if the thought has not even entered their mind...

[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
Why do the line-markings tell you that you can't turn left, but the AD sign does? Probably not necessary, as there is a broken line across the bike lane, and a "Turn Left at any time with care" sign at Anzac Hwy. It's still actually illegal to turn left from a lane that has markings indic...

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Network
Single line across the bridge (but double track for the remainder) will not hinder capacity significantly - you can still run 10+ services per hour with a single track bridge, which is in excess of what is required for the forseeable future.
That said, $30m for 'future proofing' is a bargain.

Re: #Vision: $779 MILLION Western Suburbs Tram network
O-Bahn :P Well, of course that requires all the feeder buses to terminate at a station and pax to change onto Light Rail - which is why I say 'route' rather than corridor  I should also point out that the O-Bahn is not in the western suburbs :P The point I was trying to make is that it is a p...

Re: #Vision: $779 MILLION Western Suburbs Tram network
Can somebody please point out where in Adelaide there are 30 buses per hour on a single route?“We’ve calculated that 14 trams will replace 30 buses every peak hour. They’re a much, much more efficient way of moving people and they put out about a quarter of the emissions of buses.”

[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
i would've thought the Sturt Road underpass would be of a higher priority as at least that will assist Southern suburbs traffic getting to the CBD quicker....... as all the underpasses are pointless until there is a long stretch of unimpeded driving, as otherwise the bottlenecks will just be moved ...

OK, I never read this part of the forum usually, but happened to see the last post over George's shoulder.
