Re: ACC Stripped of Powers!

Neuropolis... maybe open a Sensational-rural South Australia forum so you can focus on your forte of rural arcologies... Sorry to burst your bubble, but we're a city here mate, like it or not there will be tall buildings. although tall buildings are not the be-all and end-all of a truly functional c...

[COM] Re: #Rejected: City Central Tower 8 20 Lvl 72M

also, previous attempts to revitalise victoria square have all worked in isolation and seperately, not as an overall masterplan. any future progress of victoria square must be dealt with hollistically and strategically. i have looked at some of the proposals of victoria square, but they all in my op...

[COM] Re: #Rejected: City Central Tower 8 20 Lvl 72M

what you guys are missing is that activation of the public realm occurs where there is an abundance of ACTIVATED street frontages and streetscapes along the EDGE of that space! look at true examples of successful open spaces all over the world: piazzas and how they work in Europe. They have mixed us...

And please an "interactive pedestrian" area, people go there to work, not to sit on the footpath and drink coffee, there are a million other places in Adelaide for that. :D can i just say you are a fool! just because this area is not currently an interactive pedestrian area, doesn't mean ...

Re: The Murray & Securing our water supply

Also...did you also know that only 5 percent of the total water consumed in Australia is used by the major urban centres, and some 95 percent is consumed from just agriculture, mining and defence alone... !! I was actually thinking about starting a thread on what everyone thinks would be the correc...

Re: The Murray & Securing our water supply

It's exactly this attitude that makes us suffer. WATER IS WATER! irrigation should be no less prescious and open to abuse and overuse just because it's not drinkable to humans... total human minded approach, which does nothing to help the situation either! Of course remember that irrigation water an...

Re: The Murray & Securing our water supply

Currently, some 80 per cent of Adelaide's water supply is dependant from the River Murray, while only 20 percent comes from resevoirs from the Adelaide Hills and other outer metro areas. Also...did you also know that only 5 percent of the total water consumed in Australia is used by the major urban ...

[CAN] Re: #Proposed: 64-68 Hindley Street 22lvl 81m Hotel

We seem to always look up, but really; the most important is what happens at ground level. This is where most of use will engage with the development anyway. having said this, i am a tad concerned about the activation at grade level. the frontage along Hindley Street appears fine, but what about alo...

no way!

the new render appears far more 'slick' and corporate. the old render looks like a graphic from sim city.

everyone seems to bring up the issue about the tower being taller. do we know exactly how tall this will be and what the restrictions impose from the Development Plan? I ask because perhaps we could contact the developer and suggest that they try and increase (look at other developments around the c...

I must admit, I am really excited about this proposal. The cummulative effect of this building on our skyline, coupled with 20 - 22 Currie Street, and Spire; will have a profound impact on our skyline. I would love to see how all these buildings look like together, I can just imagine the impression ...

Re: Adelaide Projects List & Interactive Map

hey

the tall residential towers i have noticed, are not depicted on the interactive map..? there used to be large banners up with images of these as you past Grote Street, and i believe they were mainly incorporated around the new bus terminal..
