Re: CBD Development: Low/Mid-Rise
Hi folks, Was that cafe opposite the Rundle Lantern completed? If so, how is it, what is the patronage like, and can anyone who works in the area get a few quick photos for me? Thanks in advance. It was completed a few months ago and looks very similar to the cafe on the opposite end of Rundle Mall...

i walked past this arvo, hs and its tenants are all firmly shut, axel's are having a demolition sale. looks like it's go ahead. Harris Scarfe is now closed? When did this happen. They're not. The fire alarm was going crazy this morning and they were shut all day due to their roof leaking which caus...

Walking past this on the way to work and they're up to the 7th level now and it seems to be going at a level per week speed, maybe quicker. None the less, it's shooting up quickly!

Fantastic news! Glad to see the ball rolling on this and relatively quick when compared to other large proposals (spire etc.) So assuming this starts up within the next 6 months we will have three quite significant office developments in the CBD: Central Tower 8 Rundle Place Light Square Do the revi...

Re: Little ideas for a big city
Briggzy; at night buses would be a better fit. They'd be far cheaper to run and at night there's very little traffic on the roads to make any difference in travel times. I doubt you'd get enough passengers to justify even a single carriage on rail. Rail works best when there's enough passengers to ...

Re: Little ideas for a big city
Night trains. For each of the four main rail lines, on Friday night/Saturday Morning and Saturday night/Sunday morning they should have a train service every hour i.e. 1 am, 2 am and so on. A single carriage would suffice. Benefits - Increased night life activity in the city = $$$$. - Reduction in ...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverbank Redevelopment
The proposal looks quite nice in the video but as a fan of our current Convention Centre (the bit with the massive glass windows overlooking the Torrens I am a little worried that any addition to that will ruin the awesomness of that existing building. Maybe I'm overrating that building but I reall...

Re: #U/C: Main South Rd / Victor Harbor Rd Intersection Upgrade
A two-phase signal to allow northbound traffic from Victor Harbour on to the northbound carriageway of South Road I would have thought would be a relatively simple affair but for $12mil they must be doing something more complex. On Nearmap (Feb 16) earthworks are clearly evident on the intersection...

The victor harbour/south road traffic lights will be the third set of lights in a year added in my route to work :x . Re: #U/C: Main South Rd / Victor Harbor Rd Intersection Upgrade
There seems to have been quite a spate of traffic light installation in the southern suburbs recently. Lonsdale Road's had them installed at Christie Road and Patpa Way, and there's a set at the Patpa/Gledsdale/Quailo/Zwerner intersection. Is anything similar happening in the northern suburbs? The ...
