Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

ADL is within the range to fly an A380 or Dreamliner to LAX non-stop, but its not economical to do so. We simply don't have the amount of people to fill an airliner, compared to lots of connections to SYD, MEL or BRI then onto the US. The only international places that have a chance are Beijing, Tok...

[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

indoor race track :)

Masters was a flawed plan, I never envisaged it to be a money maker. They would have been better off opening a Lowes (the American version) store there, not a parody.

Re: News & Discussion: Trains

Unfortunately the residential areas around the Belair like are just not dense enough to want a frequent service And yet we run full size Transadelaide buses with relative frequency up and down Belair road which is narrow, windy, wet sometimes foggy and not much better than a goat track! Feeding bus...

Re: News & Discussion: Road Issues & Traffic Congestion

The Britannia upgrade separated the Dequetteville Terrace/Wakefield Rd section and made it easier for one to navigate this tricky section.

The use of traffic lights in peak could also be used, but that's a fair way off.

Re: News & Discussion: Road Issues & Traffic Congestion

Blackwood Roundabout - the worse in the state, now that the Britannia has been solved.

The only solution is to make it bigger, but that's a bit hard. Considering the whole suburb has barely been upgraded since the 90's, road projects are of secondary importance.

Re: South Australian Regional Fast Rail

Unfortunately there is no money.

If they can't upgrade Torrens Park or take over 20 years to demolish a closed station, regional rail has no chance. Plus there would be no patronage to justify it.

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport

Matter of fact is that our city hasn't kept up with urban sprawl with building new railway lines. One new piece of railway built since 1980.

Contrast to Sydney and Melbourne.
