Re: Beer Garden
Yep, serious. Apparently before the application they were quite confident that the council will just be a formality, which is a sign they're not really familiar with this council.

Re: Beer Garden
Heh, nice one.
Apparently the Intercontinental wanted to put up a neon sign, assumed they would get approval for it and bought the sign before applying. They didn't, with little surprise.

Re: Civic Park Spectacular - Tea Tree Gully
The Spectacular has nothing to do with the upgrade to TTP. Everything the council can do has been done, including extending the approval of the expansion. It's up to Westfield to pony up the cash.

Re: #PRO / 6-Star Hotel / 15 levels / Kent Town / $120 Milli
No Surprise - nail in the coffin for UC? Yep. Currently only two hotels in Adelaide - the Rendezvous Hotel on Waymouth St, and the Sebel Playford on North Tce - have a five-star rating and tourism leaders have called for more luxury accommodation to lure people to the state. Idiots. There is at lea...

Interestingly the Euro rules state that deficits should be only 3% of GDP. That said, Greece was posting deficits many times that number and hiding it with tricky maths

Re: State budget 2012/13
The debt was just an excuse for state Liberal to sell assets. The real reason was a belief that services such as water and electricity shouldn't be run by the government (and in turn also held by the federal Liberal party regarding telecommunications).
