Re: #ONH: Adelaide Airport Hotel | Andy Thomas Cct | 37m | 9
Sorry in advance for dredging up an old thread - no particular movement on this project, but just came across a render which I haven’t seen before, in the Approved Development Plan document for the hotel from the Adelaide Airport website. It’s basically the same as the sketch shown on the first page...

Re: #Official Mining Thread
Someone asked for a positive perspective on all this? This is about as close as I could find - from News.com.au: Many will view BHP's Olympic Dam project announcement as a dark day, but not all is lost doom and the gloom is easy enough to conjure. The decision yesterday by BHP Billiton to abandon it...

Wow, another Hines project coming to fruition here. They should rename the square 'Hinesmarsh Square'

Thanks for all the pictures guys!
Along with the Oval Redevelopment and Uni of SA building, this is my favourite development in town at the moment. Can't wait to see the glass/cladding!

I quite like it – simple, elegant form and an interesting touch with the terminating water feature. As always the final design and finishes will largely make or break it – could look tacky if executed poorly, but given the calibre of the designers I think it has a pretty good chance of turning out d...

Don’t mind it overall but I’m not a fan of the concrete balustrades either – wish they’d stuck with the glass. Wouldn’t be the first to put my hand up for one of the ‘black’ apartments either – south facing and all in black must make for a pretty gloomy, cheerless environment in the wintertime espec...

Thanks for the article Ben. Looks very interesting and I agree with Buildit regarding great never-to-be-built out views across the square. Light Square is slowly but surely aggregating density around it adding to the sense of enclosure and 'being in city' feel.

Thanks for the photos guys and great density shot Norman! I spy with my little eye no fewer than 11 mid to high rise buildings built in the last five years or so, and several more just out of view. I remember reading an article before any of these were built about Adelaide's Southern CBD being about...

Great photos guys, looking striking from Vic Square in particular.
Going off the webcam today it looks like some of the bracing structures have now been attached to the eastern facade

Agree with Council in regard to tax cuts on apartments. It would be nice to see more State Government policy-making which supports the rhetoric about growing the CBD population and reducing urban sprawl.
