Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
A Level Crossing Removal Program is being set up, which will initially look at removing three railway crossings: - Cormack Rd, Wingfield - Kings Rd, Parafield - Park Tce, Salisbury All three are long overdue and, frankly, need to start tomorrow (well, maybe not Kings Rd and Park Tce at the same tine...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
Seems to be adding 3 indoor courts, a bunch of outdoor ones on what used to be used as a car park and a new gym/office space out the back. I can't see the 36ers moving games back there (except preseason matches or the odd double booking at the Entertainment Centre) when there's even less parking an...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
When Pelligra first purchased the site and there was talk of an upgrade, and the understanding was that despite any upgrades made it wouldn’t result in the 36ers playing games there again, but it would act as more of a community hub and training facility for the 36ers. As it is, the venue can’t hos...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
The issue is, not so much if the 36ers choose to play there or not, but given it’s stated capacity of 8-9000.. and if the owners are spending $20 million, they will be poaching concerts, and larger netball games etc that as a city, we need to decide if continued car dependence is the way to go? If ...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
The 36ers Arena redevelopment is pretty much a private redevelopment by Pelligra right? To be honest, I'd be surprised if the 36ers go back there to play matches. They've been packing out the Entertainment Centre of late (which is impressive given their form). I don't see an issue with the re-develo...

Re: News & Developments: Other Suburban Retail
I'm assuming TK Maxx will be taking some of the space that was formerly the 2nd level of David Jones. Can't see it fitting anywhere else on that level. That's right. The rest of the old DJs / Johnnies space is already taken by Goodlife Gym and the childcare centre. Which is somewhat ironic as items...

Looks like, sadly, the Violi Foodland franchise has gone under.
There’s an IGA truck clearing out their Modbury Triangle store at the moment.

Much overdue - I don't think that Myer's had a great deal of love since it opened.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
Make the metro card available in smartphone wallets. That would be a great idea, especially for tourists. I'm surprised that this isn't already a thing, but we're no orphans in this regard. I think Myki is the only one that currently allows this, and even then it's limited to Android devices.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Looks like some trams will run the Entertainment Centre-Botanic Gardens route with maintenance to be done within this corridor.
If a tram does need to go back to Glengowrie, it'll be trucked down there.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Anecdotally, the maintenance of my local station has improved markedly since KDA too over infrastructure maintenance. Graffiti is normally removed within a couple of days with, as far as I know, nobody reporting it. Under DIT it would sometimes takes weeks of reporting to get someone to paint over ...

They've done well with securing quite a few premium brands, which will give them a bit of an advantage over The District when they open up.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
I still frequent Myer, but more or less they are reminding me a lot of Harris Scarf in the immediate years before they left mall. Less staff about, less foot traffic and less variety. Their cosmetics section, for example, is a drop in the ocean compared to what it use to be. I don’t think the mall ...
