Re: Lack of Major planning in Adelaide...
There is alot of behind the scenes work that the general public don't realise. The current site for desal plant pt. stanvac is contaminated with petroleum chemicals and needs to be cleaned up first, hence 5 years. also the marj on the rail site needs to be cleaned up from contamination, hence 10 yea...

Re: Lack of Major planning in Adelaide...

They just get pissed off and want solutions e.g. putting in bores, but have no idea of the long term effects of the ground water and environment. I know cause ny dad works in ground water. i know the gove...

Re: Lack of Major planning in Adelaide...
[quote="Bulldozer"] Someone said there are plans: underpasses, desalination, hopsitals, etc. but the reality is that they are mostly haphazard, reactionary plans. The desal is a classic - for years desalination was derided until Adelaide is at absolute crisis point with water and the publi...

Re: Lack of Major planning in Adelaide...
Yeh i think your right jimmy. If the government preposed their plans there would be alot less people complaining e.g. all tram extensions, general cbd development, heavy transport infrastructure, etc. Then people know exactly what the government is doing and stands for.

I think Pat.Conlon sums it up best. First it was criticized for being a waste of money and now for being
too popular.

[COM] Re: #Completed : Adelaide Airport
Yeah i saw that singapore airlines said introducing 8 flights a week over summer. I find it interesting that this happens yet qantas says demand is not high enough for more flights. why is adelaide so crap at attracting more airline? is it that we are too close to melbourne or too small market or wh...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Yeah i know as i catch the 179 and some people refuse to believe that the tram has actually improved traffic flow. They just want something to complain about as they don't want adelaide to change. The streets of adelaide are some of the widest in the country and can easily accommodate both cars and ...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I won't stop whinging until they fill it in or fix the problems. Why would the government waste money (in your opinion) building a 31m tram line then a few weeks later have it pulled up? surely this would be a waste of tax payers money. Even if you hate them it is much cheaper to leave it in and wo...
